The Democratic National Convention — a choleric conclave of charlatans, chiselers, socialists, secularists, and people adversely affected by the moon:

For Democrats, there is no God in 2012 — at least as far as the party’s platform is concerned. Nor is there a Jerusalem. Democrats removed those two words, and the passages surrounding them, from the 2012 party platform as it was released this week.

The Muleteers’ platform this year mentions Barack Obama more than 200 times and God not a one. This shouldn’t be surprising since Democrats haven’t been on speaking terms with the Lord since at least 1972. Theirs is a gathering that would be more at home in Sodom or Gomorrah — or maybe San Francisco — than Charlotte; and, though the Jackasses must pay lip service over the next few days to the traditional ideals that most Americans hold sacrosanct, what’s really important to them is…
