Faking poll numbers serves two useful purposes.
It may be considered Psychological Warfare being played by politicians.
Pumping up the numbers for Obama will energize his dwindling base while at the same time have a 'demoralizing' effect upon the opposition, or so they hope.
They can fake all the numbers they like. Voters wanting their country back will crawl over broken glass to retake their Constitution.
