Wannabe Dictator – Tea Party Nation

Wannabe Dictator – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

When President Obama said, “I’m not a dictator” on the day the sequester was activated, March 1st, he should have finished the sentence, “but I intend to be one.”

Obama has never treated the office of the presidency as his predecessors did. They knew it was a temporary job, based on one term or two. They understood it was political in that they were expected to work with both parties and that involved compromise. Obama has shown no desire to compromise on anything and routinely has changed the terms of various agreements in order to negate them.

In politics, especially at that level, a man’s word is his bond and Obama’s word is dirt. He cannot be trusted. This may account for Speaker of the House John Boehner’s barely concealed contempt for the President. It does not help when virtually all the Democrats join in the festival of lies that passes for political dialogue these days or their rote repetition by a supine media, though this is beginning to decrease as even their adoration diminishes.

On taking office in 2009, Obama created a shadow government of “czars” answerable only to him. His cabinet choices have implemented policies that led to the first reduction of the nation’s credit rating, reductions in access to the nation’s vast oil reserves on federally controlled land, and social engineering within the military including women in combat roles.

Obama has no real interest in the “give and take” of politics. Bypassing Congress at every opportunity, his favored form of “rule” is the executive order. Current executive orders grant Obama total power over every aspect of life in America in the event of an emergency or attack.

Where does one start with this President? Like all wannabe dictators, Obama has made it clear even when he was campaigning in 2008 that he is anti-gun ownership and, after the Newtown shootings, he issued 23 gun control executive orders. Ensuring that citizens have no means to protect themselves or pose a threat to a regime, dictators take guns away.

On July 2, 2008, speaking in Boulder, Colorado, Obama advocated a “Civilian National Security Force” that would be “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded as the U.S. Military.”

Alarms are rising about the unprecedented purchase of ammunition of the Department of Homeland Security. An astonishing 1.6 billion bullets are stockpiled, mainly 40 caliber and 9 millimeter. News of the purchase of 2,700 light-armored tanks suggests that the Obama federal government anticipates an armed rebellion by the citizenry.

Writing in Investors Daily, Andrew Malcolm noted that is enough “to shoot every American about five times, including illegal immigrants.” Other government departments, including Social Security, are reportedly being armed in a similar fashion.

Nationalizing all power in the central government, Obama’s Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, did that for the nation’s healthcare system, requiring everyone to purchase insurance or pay a fine if they do not. Though patently unconstitutional, the Supreme Court ruled that ACA was “a tax” and permitted it to go forward. Government bureaucrats will now decide who gets medical care and how much.

Obama has consistently rid the top ranks of the U.S. military of any generals who are seen to oppose or disagree with his policies and politics. The heaviest budget cuts have affected the Department of Defense, increasing the vulnerability of America to attack and restricting its ability to project power globally.

The power to tax is also the power to impoverish Americans and Obama has never ceased to demand increased taxes while refusing to offset government funding with reductions in government spending. Americans have seen their personal wealth diminished due to his economic policies. Millions remain unemployed.

Obama has never accepted blame for any of his policies such as the multi-billion, failed “stimulus.” Instead he spent his first term blaming former President George W. Bush and as his second term begins, he is blaming Republicans who control the House of Representatives, but have seen their economic and other measures defeated or ignored in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

If the nation survives Obama’s second term without martial law or its equivalent, historians will look back on him as the worst President to have ever held that office.

The Future – Tea Party Nation

The Future – Tea Party Nation.

The Republicans have done the unthinkable.  They reelected John Boehner as Speaker of the House.  There was no compelling reason to do so.  Boehner is simply the worst Speaker in the history of the world.  Reelecting Boehner is like the Detroit Lions going 0-16 and deciding they should keep their head coach.

What’s the difference between the Republicans of the 112th Congress and the 2008 Detroit Lions who went 0-16?  The Lions had a better season than Congress did.  And the Lions would at least get on the field and fight, which is more than we can say for Boehner.

But Boehner has been reelected and now we have to deal with the future.  What is coming and coming soon?  How do we deal with it?

Coming up in March will be the debt ceiling, sequestration and the end of the continuing resolution that has kept government funded for the last six months.

This is like the massive Battle of the Bulge during World War 2, but instead of General Patton, we have John Boehner.

We can win this fight, assuming Boehner and the Republican leadership will fight.   First, we have two months to get our messaging out.  The messaging is simple, do we want more debt or less?

The Party of Treason wants us to have debt.

We now have levels of debt that the Greeks wish they had.   Debt only leads us to one place.   National Bankruptcy.

 80% of Americans realize this.

This is the story we need to be telling now.  This fight in March is simple.  Do we want more debt or do we want less.

The Republicans must be the Party of less debt.  Obama has given us more debt that all other administrations combined.     He can’t say a word.   Obama trying to lecture America on debt is like Kim Kardashian lecturing us on the sanctity of marriage.

The Republicans must commit to being the Party of less debt.

How do we get less debt?

 It is simple.

 We stop spending money.

Republicans within the Congress must not only commit to real spending cuts, they must be ready to shut the government down to force Obama to concede.

This is the fight that the Republicans must be willing to go to the mat for.

This is also a fight the Republicans must begin today.

One huge problem Republicans have is that they are absolutely horrible at messaging.   Obama will drone on about the rich paying their “fair share,” while Republicans sit on the sidelines assuming the American people will pick up their message by osmosis.

The Republicans must get someone on board who understands messaging and who can get the Party onboard with messaging the American people will understand.

This battle has a simple message.  Do you want more debt or less debt?  Is debt good or bad?  Everyone knows debt is bad and no one wants more.

If the Republicans message this as a choice between less debt and more debt, Americans get that choice.  Americans understand that.

If John Boehner and Mitch McConnell are left to message this battle, we are lost.

were-broke-1-1Fresh of their latest round of unilateral surrender, the Republican leadership is reassuring America that in this Congress, they will fight!

 From the Hill:

President Obama will get a fight over government spending with a hike to the debt limit “whether he wants it or not,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) wrote Thursday.

In an op-ed for Yahoo, McConnell wrote that Republicans would focus on reducing spending in the next Congress, and in conjunction with the debate over raising the $16.4 trillion debt ceiling. Congress will likely need to take action on the debt limit within the next two months.

“The president may not want to have a fight about government spending over the next few months, but it’s the fight he is going to have, because it’s a debate the country needs,” McConnell warned.

McConnell called legislation he helped negotiate to avoid the effects of the so-called “fiscal cliff” earlier this week “an imperfect solution” and said the debt fight is the “perfect time” to confront the issue.

Obama has warned that he will not tolerate another extended debate over the debt ceiling. The negotiations over increasing the debt ceiling in summer 2011 resulted in an extended standoff between Obama and Republicans, the threat of a government shutdown and a credit downgrade for the country.

 A fight?

 Really?

obama_fail1I’m sure Obama is quaking in his boots or his burka, depending.

So what happened?   Did someone give Mitch a testosterone transplant in the last 24 hours?

He’s going to fight Obama on spending?

I realize a lot of us were born in the dark but Mitch apparently thinks that was last night.

It would be really great if the Republican Party suddenly discovered a backbone.  It would be great is Mitch McConnell and John Boehner suddenly morphed into these great warriors for conservative values and beliefs.

Unfortunately, I’ve lived through the last two years.  Every time we needed the GOP to stand up and fight, they folded faster than Kim Kardashian going for a new headline.

Hope springs eternal and it would be great if it would happen, but some how I think my chances of winning the lottery are greater than the chances of the Republican leadership putting up a real fight on a crucial issue.

The coming crisis – Tea Party Nation

The coming crisis – Tea Party Nation.

A1oY9n6CQAImJcc.jpg largeBarack Obama is about to bring a new crisis upon us.    Unfortunately it looks like John Boehner will be the House Speaker, so he will be leading the Republicans, so the crisis will not end well for America.

What is the new crisis that is coming and what will it mean for America?

Barack Obama has thrown down the gauntlet on the Debt Ceiling fight.   He has said he will not negotiate with the Republican majority in the House.

He just expects the GOP to roll over and do what he wants.

If John Boehner remains as Speaker that may well happen.

Obama signaled early on what he wanted with the debt ceiling.  He wants the unlimited authority to incur debt.    He wants to borrow money without any Congressional oversight.

What he really wants is the power to be a dictator.

Barack Obama does not like the American system of government.  He doesn’t like our founding fathers either.   Our founding fathers were very wise. They dealt with tyranny in their lifetime.   The fundamental purpose of the way they set up our government was not to be efficient or even to accommodate rapid change.

It was to block the accumulation of power by one man.

Barack Obama wants to change this.

If you read the Constitution, you see the genius of our founding fathers.  They set up three co-equal branches of government but it was the legislative, not the executive that was set up with the most power.

Over the last 100 years, we have seen the erosion of this concept as the executive branch has grown in size and usurped more power.

Barack Obama wants the authority to borrow money without even having to discuss the matter with Congress for two reasons.  Incurring even more debt is a part of his strategy to take America down as a superpower.

Obama does not love America.  He hates America.  He looks at America through his Marxist background and sees not the greatest nation in the world.   He does not see the country that has done more good for more people than any other nation.  He sees the evil oppressive power that Marxists always view America as.

By continuing to borrow money, unabated, he knows sooner or later debt will completely bring down the American economy and possibly the American state.

There is a deeper battle here as well.

If Barack Obama and the Party of Treason can beat the Republicans down to the point where they abdicate or at least refuse to fight for their Constitutionally mandated role in controlling the purse, America will no longer have three co-equal branches of government.

If Obama wins this next battle, it will fundamentally transform America and our government.   Which is exactly what he said he wanted to do when he ran in 2008.  Obama has spoken several times, almost longingly talking about how he wishes he had dictatorial powers.   Now, here is his chance.

The legislative branch, instead of being equal to the executive will now become inferior and submissive.   The tyranny of the strong leader that our founding fathers feared will have materialized here in America.

Today we need strong leadership.  We need men and women of courage and vision.  We need leaders like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson or James Madison.

Instead we are stuck with John Boehner.

You’ve got to hand it to the Republicans.  To err is human but to really screw up, you need the modern GOP.   The Republicans have held opposition to taxes and larger government as an article of faith since Ronald Reagan

Now under the brilliant leadership of Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, the Republicans have not only totally surrendered but have gone from the Party of Tax Cuts to the party of screwing America with a massive tax increase.

What does all of this mean?

It means that Obama won.  He didn’t just win, he scored a huge victory.

These tax increases were never about fiscal policy.  They were never about closing the deficit.   Obama wanted tax hikes to screw the productive in America and Mitch McConnell gave it to him.

This McConnell-Boehner tax bill raises taxes on 80% of Americans who make between $50,000 and $200,000.   This was not necessary but the Republican Party has been bound and determined to commit political suicide and Obama was all too happy to help them.

Now that McConnell and Boehner have already walked the plank for Obama, the Narcissist in Chief is now already demanding even more taxes in 2013 and much more in spending.

The next two items up for debate in Washington are spending and the Debt Ceiling

Given the history of the McConnell-Boehner surrender partnership, does anyone think anything good will come out of this?

If John Boehner remains Speaker of the House, we can count on a massive increase in our debt ceiling, even more spending that we cannot afford and even more surrender.

Tomorrow, the new Congress is sworn in and one of their first items of business is to elect a new Speaker.

Call your Republican Congressman today.   Tell them to vote against John Boehner for Speaker.

While a majority of Republicans currently support John Boehner for reelection, according to American Majority, there are enough Republicans willing to vote no to deny Boehner reelection.

If we are to stop Obama, we cannot do it with the team that is currently in place.  Washington Republicans are singularly incompetent and are honestly more interested in their careers than serving the American public.

If the Republicans do not make leadership changes, then we will see no change.  We will see them surrender again on spending and we will see them surrender again on the debt ceiling.

 That is totally unacceptable.

Either the Republican Party changes leadership and starts to fight or we dump the GOP and find a party that will fight.

 It is that simple.

We need a Party that stands for freedom, liberty, smaller government and less taxes.   We do not need a Republican Party that is nothing more than the official tax collector for the Obama Regime.

Time for a secret ballot – Tea Party Nation

Time for a secret ballot – Tea Party Nation.

What is more American than a secret ballot?  Everyone voting can vote without fear of retribution.

Unions have long tried to do away with secret ballots in Unionization votes.   That way more people could be forced to join the union because if they voted against the union, there would be retribution.

Now a vote is coming up.  It should be a secret ballot but is not.

 What is it?

It is the election of the House Speaker.

When the House meets on January 3, one of the first items of business will be voting for the House Speaker.   As mentioned, this will not be a secret ballot, unless we can change that.

 From Breitbart.com:

But if a member introduces that resolution for a secret ballot, the whole House will vote on that first. That vote will need to have a public roll call, meaning the American people, the press, and Boehner will know who voted which way. Even so, those who are considering this path forward to unseat Boehner know that Boehner and other establishment Republicans can’t legitimately oppose the concept of a secret ballot election for a leader of a political body.

John Boehner himself has called for secret ballots in union votes.  How does he now turn around and demand a public vote on his election as Speaker?

 Again from Breitbart:

It would be very difficult, politically, to vote against a resolution for a secret ballot. A secret ballot is sacrosanct in the American psyche. The procedure, however, would free Congressmen to vote for Speaker without fear of punishment or retaliation. If just a handful of Republicans vote for someone other than Boehner on the first ballot, he would be denied that gavel and the House would then move to another vote. Because of a current vacancy in the House, a member would need 217 votes to claim the Speakership.

A move to a second ballot could quickly get interesting. Seeing that Boehner is vulnerable, other members would start trying to build support for their own nomination. If this coalesces behind a single alternative to Boehner, then his speakership would be in serious doubt. The position of Speaker is built to a large degree on inevitability, i.e. the lack of any credible alternatives. Once that veil is breached, support for current leadership can melt away quickly.

This is our mission this week.  We must contact our Republican Congressmen and demand they support a secret ballot for the election of the Speaker.  Boehner can only maintain his grip on the Speakership by fear and intimidation.  A secret ballot ends that.

This is the week between Christmas and New Year.  Most of us do not have much planned for this week and indeed want to do very little.  But this is one thing that is essential.

Call your Republican Congressman today and demand they vote for a secret ballot for the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives on January 3.

CNS News reported that under the leadership of House Speaker John Boehner, our national debt has risen more than $2 trillion dollars or almost $19,000 per person in this nation.

Boehner gives us sound bites about cutting spending and cutting the deficit but the reality of life is that he is not interested in doing either.

There is another painful reality we must face as well.  John Boehner is a disaster as the Speaker of the House.  With the Senate and the White House in the hands of the Democrats, the Speaker of the House is the de facto leader of the Republican Party.  He is the opposition to Barack Obama and the Party of Treason.

John Boehner has been a complete failure in this role.   He must go.  But it is not enough to say he must go.  Someone must replace him.  This must be someone with leadership skills, convictions and courage to fight for America.

 Who could replace Boehner?

Let’s start with who could not.

None of the current House leadership is good enough to replace Boehner.  Eric Cantor and Kevin McCarthy are just as bad.    Neither of them has stood up for Americans against the insanity that has transpired in the last two years.

There is no other Member of Congress right now who stands out enough that I could comfortably say has the aptitude to lead right now.

We need not simply a leader.  We need someone who can articulate our message and get it out to the American people.  We need someone who can take on Barack Obama, Harry Reid and the Party of Treason and run circles around them.   We need someone with the skills of a field general who understands that this is a war and we need a strategy to win this war.

There is only one person in the Republican Party or the greater conservative movement who fits the bill.

 That man is Newt Gingrich.

Newt is not currently a Member of Congress.

That does not matter.  The Constitution does not mandate that the Speaker of the House be a Member of Congress.

Newt is brilliant.  Newt is a visionary.   Newt has fought the best the Democrats had in Bill Clinton in the 90’s and he came out on top of those fights.   While the drive by media likes to give Bill Clinton the credit for the 90’s, the simple truth is that after Newt became Speaker in 1995, it was his agenda that was passed.  It was Newt’s agenda that set up budget surpluses and the prosperity of the 90’s.

It is time for conservatives to set up a draft Newt movement.

ohn Boehner must go.   He is not a leader.  He is a joke.  If he remains as Speaker of the House not only will he destroy what is left of the Republican Party, he will allow Obama to completely destroy America.

We need a Speaker committed to a conservative agenda.   We need a Speaker who can take on Barack Obama and defeat him in the battle of public opinion.  We need someone who can articulate the conservative message and conservative agenda.  We need someone who can and will implement a conservative agenda.

We need someone who is not going to have a sharp learning curve as Speaker.  We need someone who can hit the ground running.   We need someone who will be a leader on day one.

 We need Newt Gingrich.

Join me in urging House Republicans to dump John Boehner and draft Newt Gingrich to be the next Speaker of the House of Representatives.

America is so screwed.  We have the Party of Treason doing its best to bankrupt America and then we have John Boehner.

John Boehner is all that stands between Barack Obama’s goals of destroying America’s economy.   What do we get with Boehner?

We get his freshly laundered white flag of surrender.

First he surrendered on raising tax rates and then he offered Barack Obama a “clean vote” on raising the debt ceiling.

What kind of raging moron is Boehner?

The Debt Ceiling is the strongest point of leverage Republicans have to stop Obama.  And Boehner simply wants to surrender it.

What the hell are the Republicans thinking?

Ronald Reagan once called the GOP the “Fraternal Order of Politicians.”  He is right.  The Republican Party has no interest in saving the nation.  They just want to get to their Washington cocktail parties.

This is a call to the Republican Party.

 Dump Boehner now.

 This is not even negotiable.

If the Republicans in Congress allow John Boehner to continue to negotiate, Barack Obama will have total victory.

This is not simply a partisan battle to see which party comes out on top.  This is a fight for the life of America.

We are looking at a national debt of $25 trillion by 2022.  This is not survivable.  Right now America’s per capita national debt is higher than Greece’s debt and we see where Greece is.

Obama and the Party of Treason show no interest in stopping the rate of spending or the increase in our debt.  Under Obama’s plan, all of the new tax revenue will go not to reducing our debt but will go towards even more spending.

This will accelerate the national debt.

 How?

Liberals never get as much money as they think they will when they raise taxes.  But the do always spend more than they say they will.

t some point we will see an American economic collapse if we do not stop borrowing money and get our fiscal house in order.

Unfortunately for America, fiscal collapse is exactly what Obama and the Party of Treason wants.  Even worse for America, a gutless buffoon who cannot fight leads the GOP.  No, correct that, he will not fight.

He walks into his negotiations and offers to surrender every strong point he has.  What the hell does he think is going to happen later when it comes time to address spending?

Nothing will happen because Obama will have no incentive to address spending.

If you have not called your Republican Congressman today and demanded that he or she vote against John Boehner when he is nominated to be Speaker again in January, then you need to.

This is not even debatable.  If Boehner surrenders, then conservatives en mass should leave the Republican Party and should do so in a very loud manner.

The fate of the nation rests on a man who is afraid to take on the enemy but is quite willing to stab fellow Republicans in the back.

 We are so screwed.

Shoving Us Over the Fiscal Cliff: Obama Blocks Tax Reform – Tea Party Nation

Shoving Us Over the Fiscal Cliff: Obama Blocks Tax Reform – Tea Party Nation.

Posted by Seton Motley

Note: This first appeared in the PJ Tatler.

President Barack Obama’s scant involvement with the Fiscal Cliff negotiations has been limited to his rigid insistence that the tax rate on the nation’s job creators be raised from 35% to 39.6%.

Tax reform – as a general principle and a way to raise revenue – is a presidential non-starter.

Now.  Last year, the president said this:

“What we said was give us $1.2 trillion in additional revenues, which could be accomplished without hiking taxestax rates — but could simply be accomplished by eliminating loopholes, eliminating some deductions and engaging in a tax reform process that could have lowered rates generally while broadening the base.”

Funny, that’s what House Speaker John Boehner just proposed.  $800 billion over ten years in additional coin for the realm.  By loophole-eliminating, code-simplifying – and thus job creating – tax reform.  Not via job-killing tax rate increases.

And the President’s tax hikes will kill jobs – 710,000 of them.  While only raising the same $800 billion over the next decade.

Do not misunderstand – this is not a defense of Speaker Boehner’s revenue raise.  The Feds don’t have a revenue problem – they have a spending one. Read more of this post

Are John Boehner’s days as Speaker numbered? – Tea Party Nation.

distressAre John Boehner’s days as Speaker numbered?

There is a fascinating game that is played in Washington.  People watch to see the ebbs and flow of power in the corridors of the Nation’s capital

John Boehner rose to the Speakership in 2011 after the Tea Party swept Republicans into office.   But could John Boehner possibly be a one term Speaker?

There is an interesting rumor floating through parts of Washington.  John Boehner’s days as Speaker could be numbered.

Could Boehner really be leaving the Speaker’s post?

No one is saying yes, in fact, I expect if Boehner’s office is asked about it there will be nothing but denials.   But there are a couple of clues out there that say there may be some truth to this rumor.

First, recently George Rogers, one of Boehner’s top aids left to go work for a K Street lobbying firm.   There is nothing out of the ordinary in people leaving the corridors of the Capital to cash in their skills as lobbyists.

 But why now?

It is not uncommon for top Congressional aides to hit the door and leave if they get wind their boss is going to leave.  There could be many innocent explanations for Rogers’ departure including the desire to make more money.

But as a practical matter, how does Boehner survive as Speaker?

First, he has painted himself into a corner.  He has all but agreed to Barack Obama’s major demands on taxes.  By surrendering on taxes, he will break the back of the Republican Party.    For two years, Boehner has presided over one defeat after another.

Activists are furious with Boehner and among the conservative media and blogosphere there are non-stop calls for Boehner to be replaced.

No matter how the so-called “Fiscal Cliff” crisis ends, there is no path for Boehner to declare victory.   He has walked into Obama’s trap again.   If Boehner agrees to massive tax hikes, the base of the Republican Party revolts against him.  A significant part of the Republican Caucus in the House probably will too.

John Boehner - Caricature

John Boehner – Caricature (Photo credit: DonkeyHotey)

If he agrees to give Obama the blank check on the debt ceiling that he wants, the only Republican votes in the House for that proposition might be his and Eric Cantor’s.

Boehner will have no leverage with Obama to get any kind of cuts in spending because he agreed to Obama’s demand that they deal with and raise taxes first.

Even if no agreement is reached, and the fiscal cliff is hit, Boehner still loses because the fiscal cliff was his idea.

Is John Boehner going to be leaving the Speaker’s post soon?   Some are already pushing others to run.   Tom Price’s name has come up.

 Will Boehner leave?

I am sure there will be official denials of that as soon as his office is asked.

If he does not and he surrenders to Obama, as he will, I predict Boehner, who once was a part of the revolt against then House Speaker Newt Gingrich will see his own revolt.
