West Takes the “Politically” Out of Correct – Tea Party Nation

West Takes the “Politically” Out of Correct – Tea Party Nation.

By Craig Andresen

In the wide, wide world of politics, over the last 20 years…maybe more…one thing has been in over supply and one thing has been most notably lacking and the two certainly go hand in hand.

In great over supply…so much so that it has oozed over into the general populous is political correctness. Oh we must protect the “feelings” of others even if it means not standing up for those who are truly wronged and the laws we pass, in many cases, are direct measures of political correctness. Uncounted billions of dollars have been spent by elected officials in the employ of political correctness and untold hours of time, committee hearings, debate and research have been dedicated to political correctness.

Honestly, I don’t know whether political correctness started with the populous and weaved its way into the halls of congress or the other way around but one thing is clear, liberals love it.

Actually, 2 things are clear. Liberals love political correctness and…political correctness is crap.

What is in such short supply that it is nearly nonexistent are elected officials who believe political correctness is crap.

This prevailing empathy for political correctness is what prevents elected officials from saying what they mean, leads to the over parsing of words and disallows for the people who cast ballots from knowing exactly where a candidate actually stands on any given issue.

There IS hope however…because…there IS…Allen West.

West, the congressman from Florida’s 22nd district, a freshman in Congress, has a long history of many things. He has a long and generational history of serving his country, having spent 22 years in the U.S. Army. West has a long history of doing what’s correct regardless of placing the word, “politically” in front of it. West also has a long history of saying exactly what he means.

Congressman West has never been one to parse words and now, in case anyone doubted his ability to do so, he has blown political correctness to pieces with a simple email.

“From: Z112 West, Allen
Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2011 04:48 PM
To: Wasserman Schultz, Debbie
Cc: McCarthy, Kevin; Blyth, Jonathan; Pelosi, Nancy; Cantor, Eric
Subject: Unprofessional and Inappropriate Sophomoric Behavior from Wasserman-Schultz

Look, Debbie, I understand that after I departed the House floor you directed your floor speech comments directly towards me. Let me make myself perfectly clear, you want a personal fight, I am happy to oblige. You are the most vile, unprofessional ,and despicable member of the US House of Representatives. If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up. Focus on your own congressional district!

I am bringing your actions today to our Majority Leader and Majority Whip and from this time forward, understand that I shall defend myself forthright against your heinous characterless behavior……which dates back to the disgusting protest you ordered at my campaign hqs, October 2010 in Deerfield Beach.

You have proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady, therefore, shall not be afforded due respect from me!

Steadfast and Loyal

Congressman Allen B West (R-FL)”

See any parsing of words there? Any hint of political correctness?

Nope.

Think West said exactly what he meant to say?

Yep…me too.

Fox News, asked viewers to weigh in on whether or not they thought West went too far with this email.

My answer…Nope. DWS had it coming and to be fair, she had it coming for a long time. Wasserman Schultz has, for years, employed a campaign of personal attacks against West, organizing protests at his campaign office, placing his social security number into the press, releasing West’s wife’s employment security code to the press, accusing West of membership in an all white biker gang (really?) called him an Uncle Tom and other racially charged terms and that’s just scratching the surface.

Why would Wasserman Schultz do these things? Simple really. West is black and a republican who speaks his mind. Oh yeah…the Tea Party likes him too. Unable to campaign against West on issues and on merit, Wasserman Schultz has done exactly what liberals do to those they fear…she has attacked, over and over again, him and his family…personally.

Liberals, as liberals are want to do, both in the media and in the halls of Congress, will attempt to spin this against Congressman West and will level allegations that West is attacking Wasserman Schultz but, as with nearly all such allegations from the liberals, this one will have no relationship with the truth.

This email from West is a RESPONSE to personal attacks FROM Wasserman Schultz.

Congressman West in fact has for years, been reserved about this but enough is enough and West has had enough. Wasserman has for a long time been locking horns with a bull and clearly, while adept at personal character assassination, she is way out of her league when it comes to argumentative merit.

Neither Wasserman Schultz nor those who would attempt to defend her have a leg on which to stand.

Even right leaning media pundits are calling this email “peppery” and “charged” and “harsh” but strip away the pretense of political correctness and what you are left with is an email which is honest, blunt and square to the point.

Note to Debbie Wasserman Schultz: IF you wish to lob the shells of character assassination at someone it might be a good idea NOT to do so in the direction of a 22 year war tested LTC who far surpasses your intellectual capabilities and who greatly exceeds your grasp of the will of the people.

Note to Congressman West: Carry on…SIR!
