Happy Thanksgiving from Tea Party Nation – Tea Party Nation

Today is perhaps the most uniquely American of Holidays.
Today is Thanksgiving.
Today we give thanks for our many blessings as Americans. We as Americans are the most blessed of all people. We live in a land of amazing prosperity. We have tremendous natural resources. However, that is not the source of our prosperity. The source of our prosperity is a system given to us by our founding fathers.
Our American system is unique among the nations. We have found the way to give the average citizen the greatest liberty and the greatest prosperity the world has ever seen.
America has done more good for more people than any other nation in the history of the world!
Today, for the most part, America will come to a halt. Most Americans will not be working today. Families will come together and the air will be filled with the smell of roast turkey or ham and other family dishes. Many of us will enjoy not only way too much food, but football, parades and other uniquely American activities.
For some Americans, today will be another day on the job and we do need to be thankful for them. Many exceptional Americans will be far away from family today, going in harm’s way for America and its citizens. For many soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, today is another day they spend protecting us. Closer to home, police officers, firemen and rescue squads will be working to keep us safe.
Today let us give thanks. Today freedom and liberty triumph. Today we are reminded of America’s greatness. Today we thank God for the many blessings we have received.
Charles Dickens opened his famous novel, “A tale of two cities,” with the words, “It was the best of times and it was the worst of times.” That is a pretty good metaphor for today.
Today in America we have those who would destroy this nation through negligence or design. We face threats like we have never faced.
But we are Americans.
Liberty and freedom are a part of who and what we are. We will not give up. We will not surrender. We will remain free and we will remain the greatest nation on the earth.
Today, let us give thanks for the many blessings that we have, for we are blessed beyond measure.
From all of us here at Tea Party Nation, I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
