The end of the Republican Party and possibly the United States – Tea Party Nation

The end of the Republican Party and possibly the United States – Tea Party Nation.

Posted by Judson Phillips

Barack Obama is moving forward with two of his cherished goals.  One is destroying the Republican Party and the other is destroying the United States of America.    In both cases, Obama’s efforts are being aided and abetted by the Republican Party.

 What is going on?

Barack Obama is planning his second term assault on America and one of the centerpieces of that assault is a bill to grant full Amnesty to 11 millions illegal aliens.

To call this a disaster would be an understatement.

We have been down this road before.

The first and most important thing for Americans is that we secure our southern border.   This will not happen under the Obama bill.  In 1986 when Ronald Reagan signed off on Amnesty, he was promised that if he agreed to Amnesty, the southern border would be secured.

Twenty-Six years later, we are still waiting.

The unsecured southern border has been a magnet for not only trafficking in illegal aliens, smuggling drugs and it is inconceivable that terrorists and weapons have not come through that border.

When Reagan agreed to Amnesty, the number of people given amnesty was supposed to be relatively small.  Instead it mushroomed into millions.   Almost anything was accepted as “proof” someone had been in the country prior to Amnesty.   We will see the same thing here.  It will not be eleven million people given Amnesty.  It will be twenty million or more.

What have we seen with illegal aliens?  Even though illegals are not supposed to receive welfare benefits, many are.  The Obama Regime has worked with Mexico to teach illegal aliens how to apply for benefits when they get into the country.

 What will happen after Amnesty?

 The welfare rolls will explode.

The value illegal aliens have had to the economy is that they are cheap labor.   They could be hired and paid substandard wages.  Often payments were in cash and under the table so the employer did not have to pay taxes on them.

Once Amnesty is granted, employers will not be able to pay illegals substandard wages and will not be able to pay them under the table.  In Mexico, public education only goes through the 6th grade and many of the illegals do not even go that far.

How are these people going to find employment in the modern American economy?

The answer is they are not.   They will end up on public assistance.

Finally, this is going to destroy the Republican Party as a national party.  Not only will it split the Party, it will make it all but impossible for Republicans to ever get a national majority again.

These newly legal residents, who the Obama Regime wants to put on the fast track for citizenship, overwhelmingly like big government.  They overwhelmingly want lavish welfare packages.

Some Republicans are calling for Republicans to support Amnesty.

What the hell are they thinking?

The Republicans who think that Amnesty is a good idea are the same ones who told us Mitt Romney would be a great candidate.

While it would be political suicide for Republicans to deport ten million illegal aliens, particularly those who have been here for decades and have family members who are legal.  For people like that who have been here ten or twenty years and have never committed a crime, let them register and they can get a “we will not deport you” card.

That is a huge difference between common sense and political suicide.  The Republicans do not seem to know the difference.

Invincible Ignorance – Thomas Sowell – Townhall.com.

By Thomas Sowell

Must every tragic mass shooting bring out the shrill ignorance of “gun control” advocates?

gunfreeThe key fallacy of so-called gun control laws is that such laws do not in fact control guns. They simply disarm law-abiding citizens, while people bent on violence find firearms readily available.

If gun control zealots had any respect for facts, they would have discovered this long ago, because there have been too many factual studies over the years to leave any serious doubt about gun control laws being not merely futile but counterproductive.

Places and times with the strongest gun control laws have often been places and times with high murder rates. Washington, D.C., is a classic example, but just one among many.

When it comes to the rate of gun ownership, that is higher in rural areas than in urban areas, but the murder rate is higher in urban areas. The rate of gun ownership is higher among whites than among blacks, but the murder rate is higher among blacks. For the country as a whole, hand gun ownership doubled in the late 20th century, while the murder rate went down.

The few counter-examples offered by gun control zealots do not stand up under scrutiny. Perhaps their strongest talking point is that Britain has stronger gun control laws than the United States and lower murder rates.

But, if you look back through history, you will find that Britain has had a lower murder rate than the United States for more than two centuries– and, for most of that time, the British had no more stringent gun control laws than the United States. Indeed, neither country had stringent gun control for most of that time.

In the middle of the 20th century, you could buy a shotgun in London with no questions asked. New York, which at that time had had the stringent Sullivan Law restricting gun ownership since 1911, still had several times the gun murder rate of London, as well as several times the London murder rate with other weapons.

Neither guns nor gun control was not the reason for the difference in murder rates. People were the difference.

Yet many of the most zealous advocates of gun control laws, on both sides of the Atlantic, have also been advocates of leniency toward criminals.

disarmIn Britain, such people have been so successful that legal gun ownership has been reduced almost to the vanishing point, while even most convicted felons in Britain are not put behind bars. The crime rate, including the rate of crimes committed with guns, is far higher in Britain now than it was back in the days when there were few restrictions on Britons buying firearms.

In 1954, there were only a dozen armed robberies in London but, by the 1990s– after decades of ever tightening gun ownership restrictions– there were more than a hundred times as many armed robberies.

Gun control zealots’ choice of Britain for comparison with the United States has been wholly tendentious, not only because it ignored the history of the two countries, but also because it ignored other countries with stronger gun control laws than the United States, such as Russia, Brazil and Mexico. All of these countries have higher murder rates than the United States.

blame3You could compare other sets of countries and get similar results. Gun ownership has been three times as high in Switzerland as in Germany, but the Swiss have had lower murder rates. Other countries with high rates of gun ownership and low murder rates include Israel, New Zealand, and Finland.

Guns are not the problem. People are the problem– including people who are determined to push gun control laws, either in ignorance of the facts or in defiance of the facts.

There is innocent ignorance and there is invincible, dogmatic and self-righteous ignorance. Every tragic mass shooting seems to bring out examples of both among gun control advocates.

evil1Some years back, there was a professor whose advocacy of gun control led him to produce a “study” that became so discredited that he resigned from his university. This column predicted at the time that this discredited study would continue to be cited by gun control advocates. But I had no idea that this would happen the very next week in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mexican President: U.S. Gun Laws Are “Mistaken” – Katie Pavlich.

While ignoring the inconvenient fact that part of the reason why 63,000 people have been slaughtered in Mexico since 2006 is because Mexican citizens aren’t allowed to legally own guns and defend themselves against ruthless drug cartels purchasing guns in bulk from China and Latin America, Mexican President Felipe Calderon is lecturing the United States again about how we need to reform our “mistaken” gun laws.

“Because of the Aurora, Colorado tragedy, the American Congress must review its mistaken legislation on guns. It’s doing damage to us all,” Calderon said.

Remember, Calderon called for the reinstatement of the assault weapons ban in May 2010 during an address to a joint session of Congress. Calderon is also a big supporter of the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty, better known as the “Small Arms Treaty.” Not to mention, Aurora Colorado already has strict gun laws and the theatre was a gun free zone. Calderon is also partially responsible for Homeland Security‘s “bean bag” policy after he raised hell about Border Patrol shooting a teenager who was throwing rocks at them.

When President Calderon gives up his armed to the teeth security detail, then we can talk about gun control. Until then, he should really try and keep his mouth shut. The reason America isn’t Mexico is because of our “mistaken” gun laws and I, like many others, want to keep it that way.

Team Obama resorts to default excuse: Blame Bush

By David Keene – The Washington Times

Obama administration officials must remind each other daily that they will never have to accept responsibility for anything that goes wrong on their watch as long as they can find some way to blame their troubles on George W. Bush.

So it should surprise no one that Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. and the administration’s surrogates are vociferously claiming that Operation Fast and Furious, the gun-walking scandal run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is all Mr. Bush’s fault. Fast and Furious was a program that resulted in Congress holding Mr. Holder in contempt for lying, put a couple thousand guns into the hands of Mexican drug gangs and led to the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent and as many as 200 Mexicans.

Obama spokesmen claim it all began under Mr. Bush and a little-known operation also run out of Phoenix, dubbed Operation Wide Receiver. The Bush-era program involved a few hundred guns and was designed and run by U.S. and Mexican agents who planted electronic tracking devices in the guns so the agents could follow the guns on both sides of the border. The idea was to compile evidence that could be used to prosecute gang kingpins.

A few of the guns vanished, however, as some of the batteries powering the implanted tracking devices failed, and in a few cases, gang members discovered and destroyed the devices. As soon as this was reported to Washington, the whole operation was canceled to prevent more guns from falling into the wrong hands. A vast majority of the guns involved were traced and retrieved; no one was killed; and the project was shelved as a bad idea.

Two years later, many of the same ATF and Justice Department officials in Phoenix came up with and launched a very different program they called Fast and Furious. Straw purchasers were allowed to buy more than 2,000 guns from dealers along our southern border who were pressured by government officials to look the other way. There was no attempt to trace or follow the guns; the Mexican government was not informed of the operation; and even ATF’s own agents in Mexico were kept in the dark.

No actionable criminal evidence against anyone was obtained, and agents who wanted to arrest middlemen before the guns walked were ordered to stand down. The program turned into a pipeline that provided arms to the Sinola drug cartel for use by the gang’s enforcers and drug smugglers.

The media continually refer to Fast and Furious as a botched operation, but the law enforcement purpose of the scheme never made much sense. It was never designed to enable anyone on either side of the border to trace firearms. Guns simply were handed over to criminal gangs so U.S. officials later could see how many of them turned up at crime scenes. For this to happen, they had to hope the guns would actually be used by the cartels. Gang members don’t throw away their guns for no reason, but when they use them in a crime, they discard them so authorities can’t tie them to the crime.

The American guns began showing up all over Mexico as civilians and criminals alike were gunned down. When one was found at the site of a fatal gunbattle that left U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry dead, the agent running the show reportedly dismissed his colleague’s horror at what had happened by observing, “You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.”

Whether someone at the Justice Department or deep in the bowels of the ATF dreamed up Fast and Furious is less important than what happened when higher-ups at Justice and the White House learned about it. Among the inquiries congressional investigators have spent 18 months conducting is whether administration officials attempted to use the fact that the guns were showing up at crime scenes as a means of building support for new gun-control laws.

The scheme might have worked but for a few honest agents who went to CBS News and to Sen. Chuck Grassley, Iowa Republican. The Obama administration tried first to deny everything and discredit the whistleblowers; officials blamed it on out-of-control career bureaucrats and criminal gun dealers, and finally, they blamed Mr. Bush as part of a cover-up that continues to this day.

On Nov. 8, 2011, however, when it still looked as if stonewalling alone might work, the attorney general admitted before the Senate Judiciary Committee that there was no relationship between Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious, and he claimed he would never try to equate the two programs. That, of course, was then – before all else had failed and it was time once again to blame Mr. Bush for an Obama administration scheme that went bad.

The Biggest Scandal In U.S. History – Ann Coulter – Townhall.com

The Biggest Scandal In U.S. History – Ann Coulter – Townhall.com.

Forget executive privilege, contempt of Congress, “fast and furious,” how many documents the government has produced and who said what to whom on which date.

The Obama administration has almost certainly engaged in the most shockingly vile corruption scandal in the history of the country, not counting the results of Season Eight on “American Idol.”

Administration officials intentionally put guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, so that when the guns taken from Mexican crime scenes turned out to be American guns, Democrats would have a reason to crack down on gun sellers in the United States.

Democrats will never stop trying to take our guns away. They see something more lethal than a salad shooter and wet themselves.

But since their party was thrown out of Congress for the first time in nearly half a century as a result of passing the 1994 “assault weapons ban,” even liberals know they’re going to need a really good argument to pass any limitation on guns ever again.

So it’s curious that Democrats all started telling the same lie about guns as soon as Obama became president. In March 2009, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced to reporters on a trip to Mexico: “Since we know that the vast majority, 90 percent of that weaponry (used by Mexican drug cartels), comes from our country, we are going to try to stop it from getting there in the first place.”

As she sentimentally elaborated on Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren show: “The guns sold in the United States, which are illegal in Mexico, get smuggled and shipped across our border and arm these terrible drug-dealing criminals so that they can outgun these poor police officers along the border and elsewhere in Mexico.”

Suddenly that 90 percent statistic was everywhere. It was like the statistic on women beaten by their husbands on Super Bowl Sunday.

CBS’ Bob Schieffer asked Obama on “Face the Nation”: “It’s my understanding that 90 percent of the guns that they’re getting down in Mexico are coming from the United States. We don’t seem to be doing a very good job of cutting off the gun flow. Do you need any kind of legislative help on that front? Have you, for example, thought about asking Congress to reinstate the ban on assault weapons?”

At a Senate hearing, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said: “It is unacceptable to have 90 percent of the guns that are picked up in Mexico and used to shoot judges, police officers and mayors … come from the United States.”

And then, thanks to Fox News — the first network to report it — we found out the 90 percent figure was complete bunkum. It was a fabrication told by William Hoover, of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF), and then spread like wildfire by Democrats and the media.

Mexican law enforcement authorities send only a fraction of the guns they recover from criminals back to the U.S. for tracing. Which guns do they send? The guns that have U.S. serial numbers on them. It would be like asking a library to produce all their Mark Twain books and then concluding that 90 percent of the books in that library are by Mark Twain.

You begin to see why the left hates Fox News so much.

Obama backed away from the preposterous 90 percent claim. His National Security Council spokesman explained to Fox News that by “recovered,” they meant “guns traceable to the United States.” So, in other words, Democrats were frantically citing the amazing fact that almost all the guns traceable to the U.S. were … traceable to the U.S.

Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters that even if the percentage is inaccurate, the “vast majority” of guns seized in crimes in Mexico come from the United States. And he should know, because it turns out he was sending them there!

Apart from the guns Holder was giving them, this was an absurd claim. Most of the guns used by drug cartels are automatic weapons — not to mention shoulder-fired rockets — that can’t be sold to most Americans. They are acquired from places like Russia, China and Guatemala.

Right about the time the 90 percent lie was unraveling, the Obama administration decided to directly hand thousands of American guns over to Mexican criminals. Apart from the fact that tracking thousands of guns into Mexico is not feasible or rational, the dumped guns didn’t have GPS tracing devices on them, anyway. There is no conceivable law enforcement objective to such a program.

This is what we know:

(1) Liberals thought it would be a great argument for gun control if American guns were ending up in the hands of Mexican criminals;

(2) They wanted that to be true so badly, Democrats lied about it;

(3) After they were busted on their lie, the Obama administration began dumping thousands of guns in the hands of Mexican criminals.

We also know that hundreds of people were murdered with these U.S.-government-supplied guns, including at least one American, U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.

But let’s look on the bright side. The BATF was originally going to ship warheads to Iran until realizing the explosions might disable the tracking devices.

(Contrary to more Democrat lies, there was no such program to dump thousands of guns in Mexico under George W. Bush. The Bush administration did have a program that put GPS trackers on about 100 guns in order to actually trace them. That operation was ended almost as soon as it began because of the lack of cooperation from Mexican officials. You may as well say Holder’s program was “started” by the first cop who ever put tracer dye on contraband.)

No one has explained what putting 2,500 untraceable guns in the hands of Mexican drug dealers was supposed to accomplish.

But you know what that might have accomplished? It would make the Democrats’ lie retroactively true — allowing them to push for the same gun restrictions they were planning when they first concocted it. A majority of guns recovered from Mexican criminals would, at last, be American guns, because Eric Holder had put them there.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, some brave whistleblower inside the government leaked details of this monstrous scheme. As soon as Congress and the public demanded answers, Holder clammed up. He just says “oops” — and accuses Republicans of racism.

Honor obligates attorney general to resign

By George E. McCubbin III

As president of the National Border Patrol Council, I represent more than 17,000 rank-and-file Border Patrol agents. I personally have been an agent for more than 25 years, during which time I have seen my fair share of politics related to the service. We have dealt with overzealous prosecutors and anti-immigration organizations, but never have we had to deal with an attorney general who has complete disregard for one of our own.

Eric H. Holder Jr. is called “America’s top cop” as the attorney general of the United States. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held hearings with Mr. Holder as a witness in order to properly investigate the disaster known as Operation Fast and Furious. Direct questions have been aimed at the attorney general to determine who is at fault and to hold those parties accountable for their involvement in the operation. To date, Mr. Holder has danced around the questions, releasing only a small fraction of the documents that have been requested by Congress. He has not answered all of the questions that the committee has asked him. We are one-and-a-half years into this investigation and are no closer to getting the answers than when we started. It is downright unacceptable. This is why the National Border Patrol Council is calling for the resignation of Mr. Holder. Credibility, honesty, integrity and honor are trademarks that every law enforcement officer brings to work every day. Yet, as America’s top cop, Mr. Holder has failed on every count.

Operation Fast and Furious cost the life of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and was a complete catastrophe. It demonstrated the incompetence of several agency managers. To think that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) would allow Mexican citizens to purchase weapons and then take them back to Mexico in order to use them for committing further crimes against their people and the citizens of the United States is unbelievable. But that is exactly what they did, and they accomplished this with the blessing of Mr. Holder.

When this investigation started, we hoped the legal system would reveal answers to questions that so many people had asked: How did this happen? Who allowed it? Who made the decision to continue with this operation? Who knew about this and did not report the facts to the proper authorities? We know Mr. Holder has the answers. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee wants these answers. The Terry family deserves the answers. Mr. Holder knows the answers, but refuses to provide them. If the attorney general has any respect left for the position he currently holds, then he should do four honorable things:

Apologize to the Terry family.

Deliver all relevant documents to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Provide thorough and honest answers to all of the questions that he has not answered to date.

Resign immediately.

Cruise missiles [illustrative]

Israel is reporting on an Iranian long-range missile program that would be capable of reaching the United States. A separate report from their Intelligence chief says Iran can make nuclear bomb within a year. This missile program underwent a setback in December when an explosion occurred at the facility but no estimates were presented on when this missile will be mass produced. With Ahmadinejad’s request yesterday for a 127% increase in Iran’s defense budget, I don’t believe they are funding internal border security. However, they may need part of this increase to build a new line of drones.

The following excerpt may be the most important part of the article since Iran now has enriched uranium to the key 20% level:

Israel’s Strategic Affairs Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ya’alon also said that Iran and Hezbollah were working with drug cartels in Mexico to learn how to smuggle materials into the US, a conduit that could one day be used to smuggle weapons into the country.

Rick Perry gave a warning to us about this in November.

This excerpt from 2011 is another example of Hezbollah in Mexico:

In April of last year, the arrest of Jamal Yousef – in New York City – exposed a weapons cache of 100 M-16 assault rifles, 100 AR-15 rifles, 2,500 hand grenades, C4 explosives and antitank munitions. According to Yousef, the weapons, which were being stored in Mexico, had been stolen from Iraq with the help of his cousin who was a member of Hezbollah.

Let’s hope that the administration’s policy of not letting a “crisis go to waste” in an election year does not include allowing dirty bombs coming in from the Mexican border. After yesterday’s election projections, a second term for Obama is looking dim and his options are limited.

Ya’alon: Iran was working on US-range missile

Deputy Prime Minister says December explosion at Iran base occurred where long-range missile was being developed; adds that Turkey assisting Iran to circumvent sanctions by allowing them access to banking system.

Iran was working on developing a missile with 10,000 km range that would put America in reach of a potential Iranian attack, Strategic Affairs Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Ya’alon said Thursday.

According to Ya’alon, the missile was based on a solid fuel propellant and would have been able to significantly increase Iran’s offensive capabilities. Last month, a mysterious explosion rocked an Iranian missile base near Tehran where Iran was working on developing this long range missile.

Ya’alon also said that Turkey is helping Iran bypass the sanctions that have been imposed on it in recent months.

According to the deputy prime minister, who was in the United States last week for talks on Iran with senior officials from the Obama administration, Turkey was helping Iran circumvent the sanctions by allowing it to use its banking system.

Ya’alon said that the Israeli government was committed to stopping Iran’s nuclear program “in one way or another.”

“We need a credible military option. The Iranians understand the West has capabilities, but as long as the Iranians don’t think that the West has the political stomach and determination to use it they will not stop,” Ya’alon affirmed. “Currently they don’t think that the world is determined.”

Ya’alon also said that Iran and Hezbollah were working with drug cartels in Mexico to learn how to smuggle materials into the US, a conduit that could one day be used to smuggle weapons into the country.

Mexican Drug cartel violence is spreading to the United States.  This kind of thing should be headline news.  Instead, it is at best relegated to local news casts.

 From KRGV.Com

Three beheadings in two different states and they happened here in the United States, not Mexico.

Former DEA supervisor Phil Jordan says all three beheadings have cartel written all over them. They happened in Arizona and Oklahoma in the past year.

A murder mystery is now unraveling on a stretch of North Reservation Road in Tucson, Ariz. County workers found a headless man lying on the side of the road Jan. 6. The man’s hands and feet were reportedly missing, too.

”It would lead me to believe the message wanted to be sent. This is one of the ways they do it in Mexico, Colombia and other places,” says Jordan.

Jordan says the cartels are getting bolder in carrying out their beheadings across the border. He says we only used to see these crimes in Mexico.

“They don’t have any borders,” says Jordan.

More than 600 miles from the border, a 19-year-old human trafficking victim was found beheaded in Oklahoma. Carina Saunders was stuffed into a bag and left in a grocery store parking lot.

”People know if they get on the wrong side of the fence, they’ll be dealt with,” says Jordan.

The police chief in the area says two men running the trafficking ring killed Saunders to send a message to the other victims. Jordan says the cartels’ calling card is all over this case. Trafficking and smuggling are their top moneymakers. Revenge is the price of doing business.

”Definitely a cartel hit,” says Jordan.

Investigators in Chandler, Ariz., say cartel operatives came from Mexico to kill 38-year-old Martin Alejandro Cota Monroy. His beheaded body was found in his apartment.

“One is too many; two is too many. Three should send an alarm,” says Jordan.

Sent an alarm?  We should be sending the United States Army to our border areas and seal our border.

Mexican cartels have been afraid to export their violence to America, until now.  They are slowly realizing that they have nothing to be afraid of and are now starting to bring their violence from the streets of Mexico to the streets of America.

Right now, no one cares.  Who really cares if the cartel kills another cartel member who happens to be an illegal alien?  We will care when civilians start getting caught in the crossfire.  We will care when they get so bold that they start threatening or even killing police like they do in Mexico.

There are parts of the Southwestern United States that are effectively controlled by a foreign power.   We are losing our sovereignty over parts of this country and the Obama Regime, along with the Republicans and Democrats do not seem to care.

Perhaps they will care when Americans start dying.   But by then, it may be too late.

The only politician who lies and flip flops anymore than Mitt Romney is Barack Obama.  Now, in a blatant election year ploy, the Border Patrol claims it is going to crack down on illegals crossing the border.

 From Fox News:

The U.S. Border Patrol is moving to halt a revolving-door policy of sending migrants back to Mexico without any punishment.

The agency this month is overhauling its approach on migrants caught illegally crossing the 1,954-mile border that the United States shares with Mexico. Years of enormous growth at the federal agency in terms of staff and technology have helped drive down apprehensions of migrants to 40-year lows.

The Border Patrol now feels it has enough of a handle to begin imposing more serious consequences on almost everyone it catches, from areas including Texas’ Rio Grande Valley to San Diego. The “Consequence Delivery System” — a key part of the Border Patrol’s new national strategy to be announced within weeks — relies largely on tools that have been rolled out over the last decade on parts of the border and expanded. It divides border crossers into seven categories, ranging from first-time offenders to people with criminal records.

Punishments vary by region but there is a common thread: Simply turning people around after taking their fingerprints is the choice of last resort. Some, including children and the medically ill, will still get a free pass by being turned around at the nearest border crossing, but they will be few and far between.

Does anyone really believe the Obama regime?

They are suing every state that tries anything to stop illegal immigration.  When Arizona Governor Jane Brewer complained that dangerous drug smugglers had take over parts of Arizona, instead of sending resources to help drive the illegals out or apprehend them, the Obama regime simply sent signs warning Americans that certain areas were dangerous.

The Obama regime has been pushing Amnesty any way it can.   Now they really expect us to believe this?

They really do believe we are stupid.

Where Eric Holder Belongs!

No, this isn’t Rick Perry going oops.  This is Eric Holder.

Holder, who may well have lied to Congress about what he knew about the “Fast and Furious” gunrunning project is now continuing to stonewall Congress.

From The Daily Caller:

Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley said Thursday that Attorney General Eric Holder is continuing to stonewall congressional investigation into Operation Fast and Furious. This time, Holder is refusing to provide 11 of the 12 witnesses Grassley and House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa have requested be made available for interviews.

“We have requested 12 Justice Department witnesses be made available for transcribed interviews,” Grassley said in a Thursday Senate Judiciary Committee executive business meeting. “Despite the department’s promises of good faith cooperation, only one witness has been provided so far — former U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke. The department has refused to schedule interviews with any of the other 11 witnesses.  That’s not the good faith cooperation I was promised, and it is unacceptable.”

Grassley and Issa are demanding to know who was involved in crafting a February 4 letter to the Department of Justice sent to Congress, which contained claims — now understood to be false — that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives did not allow guns to walk into Mexico.

Allowing guns to walk means that ATF agents did not interdict weapons traffickers when they had opportunities to do so, opting to track the weapons into Mexico to determine their ultimate destination. In Operation Fast and Furious, the ATF lost track of as many as 2,500 weapons, assisting criminals in hundreds of murders in Mexico and the killing of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

Does anyone remember this is the “most transparent administration ever?”

Can you imagine if George Bush’s Attorney General had stonewalled Congress on something like this?  The media would have been calling for impeachment.  What are we hearing from the media?  Nothing.

But we are hearing from the friends and family of Brian Terry, the Border Patrol Agent killed by one of the guns from Fast and Furious.

From Politico:

A friend of slain Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry is speaking out Wednesday against Eric Holder’s refusal to apologize to Terry’s family, calling the attorney general’s testimony on Capitol Hill “very insincere.”

Lana Domino, a friend of the Terry family and one of the creators of rememberbrianterry.com, said on Fox News that Holder has neglected to take responsibility for Operation Fast and Furious, a botched sting operation that allowed as many as 2,000 guns to end up in Mexico. Two guns found at Terry’s murder scene have been linked to Fast and Furious.

“Mr. Holder’s comments as far as he has regret and sympathies, I think are very insincere. He never contacted the family,” Domino said. “He could have written a letter — he never wrote a letter. He could have attended a memorial, there was plenty of memorial services — there was one in Tucson, Ariz., there was a funeral in Michigan — he didn’t attend those either.”

Of course, Holder and this administration do not care about America or Americans.  If you are an illegal alien, however, caught in this country, they are more than happy to prosecute the police officer who arrested you and let you go.
