It Can Happen Here – Tea Party Nation

It Can Happen Here – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

“How the Jews Defeated Hitler” is the title of a new book by Dr. Benjamin Ginsberg PhD, subtitled “Exploding the Myth of Jewish Passivity in the Face of Nazism.”  The title is counter-intuitive because, as is well known, the Nazis murdered six million Jews in Europe during the course of a deliberate genocide that has since become known as the Holocaust.
The author is a professor of political science and is chair of the Center for Advanced Governmental Studies at Johns Hopkins University and the book is more than just a history of that horrific period of history. It is not that long ago. I was a child at the time so, within the living memory of the survivors, their children and grandchildren, as well as others like myself around the world, it is living history.
The value of the book is the way it explains how many of the Jews of Europe, particularly those herded into ghettos, failed to grasp what was happening. “It was initially difficult for most Jews to believe that the Germans actually intended to kill them all.”
Another major factor was that the Nazis ensured that they were disarmed and unable to defend themselves, as were others who opposed the regime.
Where resistance fighters emerged, Ginsburg notes that “Germany relied, especially in Western Europe, on the help of local police forces to deal with partisans, and, especially in France and Holland, whose local police were quite helpful.” In occupied France, “The French police helpfully compiled a card index of all the Jews of Paris by name, street, occupation, and nationality.”
Therein lies the fears and concerns of Americans as they slowly come to realize that their government not only knows where they live, but a great deal of information about them courtesy of the Internal Revenue Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Security Agency, right on down to their local law enforcement authorities.
If or when Obamacare is fully implemented, anonymous bureaucrats will be able to “target” selected Americans who are seeking medical care for death simply by denying it. No need to set up concentration camps to kill them en mass. Just as the little girl who needed a lung transplant that was initially denied by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, individuals identified as “patriots” or other enemies of the state could simply be allowed to die.
So, yes, it can happen here.
The focus of the present day animus against Jews in general—extremely active throughout the Middle East and a major trend in Europe—is the nation of Israel. Zionism, the political movement that supports Israel, is a handy substitute for anti-Semitism.
Dr. Ginsberg, however, notes that “In actuality, Israel’s founding was very much the result of the West’s postwar unwillingness to accept Jewish refugees. Governments that felt that even one Jewish refugee was one too many had to find someplace to resettle several hundred thousand Jews.” The State of Israel, like the mythical phoenix, literally rose from the ashes of Europe’s murdered Jews.
“To the Americans and eventually even to the British, the State of Israel seemed the least undesirable alternative. Within two decades of Israel’s creation (in 1948) though, the reasons for its existence were forgotten or had become irrelevant, and new configurations of political forces gave rise to a renewed European anti-Semitic discourse taking the form of anti-Zionism…The European Left loudly proclaims its anti-Zionism by denouncing Israel as a racist and apartheid state and calling for boycotts of Israeli products, citizens, and ideas.” The United Nations is a hotbed of anti-Semitism.
During World War II, however, Jews played leading roles in the partisan efforts to disrupt German aggression, often held leadership positions in the allied military forces and served within them, were active throughout the FDR New Deal administrations, supported the U.S. bond drives to finance the war, and were instrumental in breaking the codes of the Nazis and Empire of Japan. Jews were also the core of physicists and engineers who developed the atomic bombs that speeded the end of the war in the Pacific.
The same authoritarian and leftist forces, whether it is the rise of Islamic ambitions to conquer the world or the efforts of the Left to impose a one-world government via the United Nations or just to undermine the former power and position of the United States as a defender of freedom, are at work today.
You need not be a Jew to fear the growing centralization of power in the federal government.
If you are a gun-owner, you know that the Obama administration and some in Congress seek to amend and erode the Second Amendment in an effort to take your arms away from you; a common goal of fascism.
If you are a member of the Tea Party or a patriot movement, you now know that the Internal Revenue Service sought to deny applications for tax-exempt status needed for fund-raising.
If you fear that your Fourth Amendment right to privacy is being eroded then you know that the Constitution is under attack.
If you are concerned about government by executive order, then yes, it can happen here.

Obama’s Enormous Climate Lies – Tea Party Nation

Obama’s Enormous Climate Lies – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

Putting aside Obama’s intention to further reduce our nuclear arsenal as articulated in his June 19 speech in Berlin, he has solidified his position as the World’s Greatest Liar with his statements about climate change, aka global warming, which he called “the global threat of our time.”

Let us stipulate that the global threat of our time is the rise of Islamic fanaticism in its pursuit of a worldwide caliphate. It threatens some six billion of the world’s population that represent other faiths. It is on the rise throughout the Middle East and into northern Africa’s Maghreb. It has cells in South America and it threatens the lives of millions of Americans if the jihadists acquire nuclear arms.

Regarding the President’s call for nuclear disarmament, veteran journalist Bill Gertz observed that “The president is using a new term to support his earlier disarmament call back in 2009 in Prague, and it’s called ‘peace with justice’ which has a very Marxist-Leninist ring to it. All the rhetoric of the communist groups around refer to peace with justice, (and) now the president has employed it for the first time.”

Obama continues to conjure up global warming despite overwhelming evidence that it does not exist. Dubbed “climategate”, revelations in 2009 made clear that a small group within the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) were deliberately falsifying their climate models.

A6_HvuRCEAAJ3mMThere is nothing that humans can or should do regarding the Earth’s climate. It is a force that is so vast and powerful that calls for renewable energy, energy conservation, and a “carbon tax” on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are utterly false, a danger to human life, a threat to global economic development, and the work of scoundrels and charlatans.

At present, there has been no warming for almost seventeen years. The Earth is in a natural cooling cycle as the result of another natural cycle, the reduction of the Sun’s radiation that warms the Earth.

“For the grim alternative affects all nations,” said Obama. “More severe storms, more famine and floods, new waves of refugees, coastlines that vanish, oceans that rise.”

incompetentThe President is lying!

In his 2008 speech in Chicago’s Grant Park following his election, Obama said, “It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America

The change has been, not just the election of the first black American as president, but the first president to consistently lie to Americans. The change he has wrought in his first term and is seeking to bring about in his second includes the largest seizure and nationalization of the American health system in our history and a “stimulus” that wasted billions of dollars that accomplished nothing to reduce unemployment and avoid economic stagnation.

myworkObama’s promise of change has reduced America’s standing in the world as the protector of peace and his decisions have helped advance the spread of the Islamic jihad.

It has produced a war on coal, the energy resource that, prior to his taking office, provided fifty percent of all the electricity Americans use every day. It has reduced access to oil and natural gas on federal lands. Obama will pursue more action in the name of climate change in the form of more regulation of power plants, new subsidies for so-called clean energy, and other big, futile, farcical, and costly government programs

Obama’s administration has given us scandals from “Fast and Furious” to the failure to come to the aid of our ambassador to Libya in Benghazi; the revelation that the IRS engaged in a deliberate program against Tea Party, patriot groups, and even Jewish organizations. It has reduced and degraded the U.S. military with programs to permit homosexuals to serve and women to be in combat units. An outbreak of sexual assaults—26,000 and most men-on-men—in the military has resulted.

bothIn Berlin, the President said, “Our generation must move towards a global compact to confront a changing climate before it is too late, that is our job; that is our task.”

On June 25, he will announce new executive orders to implement “climate change” mandates in the face of congressional resistance. He says it will be “my vision for where I believe we need to go—a national plan to reduce carbon pollution, prepare our country for the impacts of climate change, and lead global efforts to fight it.”

Carbon dioxide is not “pollution”; it is, along with oxygen, the other gas most vital to all life on Earth.

The Worst President Ever – Tea Party Nation

The Worst President Ever – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

All through George W. Bush’s two terms, the Democrats led by Nancy Pelosi and others claimed that they represented “a culture of corruption” and yet I cannot recall any significant examples, nor does a look back at those years reveal any scandals resulting from his administration’s governance. It was not perfect, but it was not corrupt.

This term, however, marked Barack Obama’s first term and now his second which is currently imploding from a confluence of scandals involving Benghazi-Gate, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Department of Justice. Let’s not forget “Fast and Furious.”

The very first example of the changes that would mark his administration was the announcement of Obama’s “czars”, a shadowy group of advisors whose power to set and influence government policy without any congressional oversight appears to have transcended that of his cabinet members, many of whom would contribute to lengthening the recession he “inherited” as the result of the 2008 financial crisis while increasing the national debt and deficit to heights never before seen in the history of the nation.

What we have come to learn in his first term was that Obama had scant regard for the Constitution, the guiding instrument of governance. It was in his view an “imperfect” instrument and yet, with amendments, it has guided the nation to superpower status since its ratification in 1791, a process that took four years from the 1786 Annapolis Convention that called for a Constitutional Convention.

What we learned though in his first campaign and first term was that Obama lies about everything, starting with his personal life. What we have learned is that his answer to everything is to give another speech, hold another press conference, issue another executive order, and to dismiss any criticism as “a sideshow”, and to host a number of dinners to give the impression he is willing to work with Republicans in Congress. In truth, he rarely interacted even with Democrats in Congress.

In short, Obama has never addressed his duty to govern. He has instead maintained a non-stop process of campaigning and fund-raising. It did not work in 2010 when voters returned power to the Republicans in the House and now he is doing everything he can to regain Democrat control there in 2014.

His priority on September 11, 2012, the night in which he was informed of the attack on the Benghazi consulate in Libya, was to go to bed in order to get a good night’s sleep before flying off to Las Vegas for more fund-raising the next day, skipping his daily intelligence briefing. An American ambassador had been killed along with three other personnel, but it did not alter his schedule.

This is a President who spent his entire first term blaming his predecessor, George W. Bush, for every problem that crossed his desk and demanded his attention.

This is a President whose foreign policy in the Middle East failed to address events there while delegating responsibility to his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton who as of 2 AM the morning of September 12th knew that it was an orchestrated attack by al Qaeda. And then, in concert with the White House, told Americans that it was the result of a video and was a “spontaneous” event.

This is a President who has withdrawn U.S. troops from Iraq, a nation now wracked with daily bombings and has set in process the withdrawal from Afghanistan, a nation that will fall once again under the control of the Taliban. The alleged ally of America, Pakistan, now fears for its stability from the same threat. Both wars, the longest since the Vietnam War, were and remain unpopular, but both were intended to reduce the role of al Qaeda in the Middle East. That role has now expanded into the Syrian civil war and was manifest in Mali.

His response was to depend on isolated drone attacks in Yemen and elsewhere, and of course his authorization of the assassination of Osama bin Laden for which he took total credit despite the fact that the effort had begun in the Bush years.

In the years prior to Benghazi-Gate we have now learned that Obama was using the Internal Revenue Service to harass organizations associated with the Tea Party movement, that identified themselves as “patriots”, or had a pro-Israel agenda. In a similar fashion his Environmental Protection Agency was denying Freedom of Information inquires to organizations opposed to its policies while granting access to those who supported it.

In his first term, his Department of the Interior pursued policies that denied access to drilling for oil and natural gas on federally owned lands and while his Department of Energy wasted billions on “renewable energy” companies manufacturing solar panels no one wanted to purchase, going bankrupt one after another. At one point the President advocated using algae—pond scum—as a source of energy.

This is a President who promised his “stimulus” program would put Americans back to work and revive the economy.

This is a President who has continued to tell Americans that global warming is the greatest threat to the nation and the world despite a sixteen-year cooling cycle in progress.

The current scandals, derided as being “politicized” by Republicans, suggest that impeachable offenses have been authorized and committed by branches of the administration he leads. The current makeup of Congress in which the Senate is still controlled by Democrats suggests that impeachment would be difficult to pursue, but the 2014 midterm elections could and should change that.

The worst of his offenses is Obamacare, described by members of his own party as “a train wreck”, and a program to be administered by the IRS!

It is not hyperbole to say Barack Obama is the worst President in the history of the nation.

Ask the millions of Americans who are still unemployed more than four years since his first inauguration.

Ask the millions of new graduates from colleges and universities who cannot find jobs commensurate with their degrees.

Ask the millions of Americans unable to retire due to the agonizingly slow recovery of the economy.

And ask the mainstream media, after years of ignoring his failures have suddenly awakened to the seizure of Associated Press phone records after acting as mere stenographers for his daily “talking points.”.

The question is how long before he is either impeached or forced to resign as the dream of “hope and change” has turned to hopelessness and the change has become the “transformation” of America from the greatest economy the world has ever known to a debtor nation disrespected by allies and enemies alike.

Dumb and Dangerous: America’s Fast Pass for Saudi Arabia – Michelle Malkin.

Dumb and Dangerous: America’s Fast Pass for Saudi Arabia – Michelle Malkin .

incompetentIt’s business as usual in the post-9/11 world. Your federal government is back to pandering to wealthy travelers from Saudi Arabia. In the eyes of our massive homeland security apparatus, the comfort of Saudis is a higher priority than the safety of American citizens.

And thanks to reckless, feckless bureaucrats who fear being labeled “racists,” “xenophobes” and “Islamophobes,” political correctness remains the handmaiden of terror.

According to a new report released this week by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security plans to bestow “trusted traveler” status to travelers from Saudi Arabia. Yes, the home of 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers will soon enjoy the exclusive privilege of new entry shortcuts into the U.S.

Fox News points out: “Only an exclusive handful of countries enjoy inclusion in the Global Entry program: Canada, Mexico, South Korea and the Netherlands. According to the IPT, some officials are questioning why Saudi Arabia gets to reap the benefits of the program, when key U.S. allies like Germany and France are not enrolled.”

Saudi suck-up Janet Napolitano, head of the Department of Homeland Security, hailed “the bond between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” and pledged to work with the government to facilitate “legitimate trade and travel.”

This foolish move is astonishing but not unprecedented. As I noted in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the Bush administration had created its own fast-pass system for Saudi elites called “Visa Express.” Thanks to this GOP idiocy, three of the 9/11 hijackers skipped the usual consular interview process and bypassed long lines in the hot Saudi sun.

Throughout the jihadist-coddling Saudi kingdom, applicants could simply file their visa paperwork through travel agencies and courier companies for a small fee — without having to appear in person or submit to extensive background checks. The U.S. embassy in Riyadh bragged before 9/11: “Applicants will no longer have to take time off from work, no longer have to wait in long lines under the hot sun and in crowded waiting rooms, and no longer be limited by any time constraints.”

Investigative reporter Joel Mowbray obtained the shocking, shoddy applications filed by the hijackers — whose omissions about where, when and what they planned to do when they arrived in the U.S. should have raised blood-red flags. But after the Saudi-dominated 9/11 jihad crew murdered nearly 3,000 innocent men, women and children on our soil, Bush administration officials bent over backward to assure touchy Saudis that no changes would be made “in determining visa eligibility as a result of the (9/11) attacks.” Visa Express was expanded.

Moreover, State Department employees were banned from communicating with foreign governments about their citizens’ visa applications, making it virtually impossible to verify vital information. The Bush State Department official in charge of implementing the “Visa Express” program that helped enable 9/11 hijackers and their colleagues was not punished. Instead, she received “cash prizes for ‘outstanding performance in the 12 months from April 16, 2001, to April 15, 2002’ — a period during which at least five of the 9/11 terrorists received visas that should have been denied according to the law,” as Mowbray noted, “and during which September 11 happened.”

Since that time, consular screening has remained an abject joke. There is still no operational tracking system to detect and deport hundreds of thousands of visa overstayers, including untold numbers of illegal aliens from jihad-friendly Middle Eastern countries. Law enforcement training for consular officials is scant. And Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., stated the obvious about Obama’s Fast Pass 2.0: “I think you have radical Wahhabism in certain elements in Saudi Arabia, and I think to be more lenient there than in other places would be a mistake.”

Twelve years after a Saudi-dominated cabal of young male Muslims committed mass murder in the skies and brought down the Twin Towers, your government refuses to do the unapologetic national security profiling necessary to prevent another domestic attack by foreign jihadis. Instead, they’re searching your grandma’s knitting bag, your Marine’s prosthetic limbs and your toddler’s bags packed for Disneyland — while waving Saudi “trusted travelers” through the fast lane. Deadly deja vu.

UN Treaties Erode US Sovereignty, Exert Control – Tea Party Nation

UN Treaties Erode US Sovereignty, Exert Control – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

Following the end of World War II in 1945, the idea of a United Nations, an international body devoted to avoiding future wars must have had a lot of appeal despite the fact that, not that many years earlier, the League of Nations that emerged after World War I had proven to be a toothless failure.

In the years since, the United Nations has prevented major world conflicts, but it has done little to curb others. It seems to exist to give its blessing to them and the U.S. has long acted as if it could not engage in a war without its permission. From the Korean War in the 1950s to Vietnam in the 1970s, to the wars in the Middle East, the U.S. has ceded its sovereign right to pursue wars in what it regarded as its national interest. Korea and Vietnam were proxy wars during the period of the Cold War between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.

The wars in the Middle East have been a response to 9/11, first in Afghanistan and later the need to remove the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, who had waged war against Iran and Kuwait. The U.S. actually lent support to the war against Iran because we have technically been at war with Iran since 1979 when our diplomats had been seized and held hostage. Kuwait is an oil-rich nation and, if Saddam had been allowed to take over, he would have turned his attention to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations. In the Middle East, it is always about oil. And now we must add to that equation, the rise of fanatical Islam.

In all the cases cited, the United States has had to do the heavy lifting, the bulk of the fighting. World War II left us the only superpower in the world and the only one with atomic bombs. We put Western Europe back on its feet as a counterweight to the Soviet control over Eastern Europe. When it collapsed in 1991, the balance of power changed, but by then China was already on the rise economically, having embraced capitalism, but retaining Communism as its governmental system. The dictators who ran the Middle East, many of whom the U.S. either tolerated or lent support, ran into a buzz saw of discontent from their oppressed populations.

One of the largest cliques in the United Nations is made up of Middle Eastern, African and other largely Muslim nations. They and others like the Chinese and Russians have no love for democracy or freedom. The result has been the rollout of treaties intended to (1) generate enough income to make the UN financially independent and (2) exert a centralized global control over commerce and the individual lives of people worldwide.

The UN is the center for the entire global warming/climate change hoax and its Kyoto Protocols to reduce so-called greenhouse gas emissions. It is the home of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which just finished its 18th conference to continue its intention to transfer money from the developed nations to those that are not. The U.S. Senate unanimously rejected this treaty in 1997 when it was initially proposed.

There is, however, a Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) that is seeking ratification by the U.S. and is supported by the Obama administration. It would give the UN control over offshore drilling, requiring the U.S. to pay half of its royalties to unelected UN bureaucrats who could spend it any way they want. Moreover, it would require the U.S. to make our offshore drilling technology available to any nation that wanted it and to do so for free despite the millions spent to develop it. One fears that a lame duck Senate might ratifies it. The most recent effort to ratify it was rejected in July.

What most Americans do not know is that international treaties trump the U.S. Constitution. They have the same status as constitutional law and must be enforced by U.S. Courts. Thus, our most sacred right as a nation, our sovereignty, is eroded by such treaties. It was the reason that the Congress rejected membership in the League of Nations. We should have done the same with the United Nations, but for decades since we have provided a quarter of its budget while having just one vote in the General Assembly.

There is no doubt in my mind that the worst of the UN treaties is the current effort to exert control over the Internet. This month, representatives of the 193 member countries of the International Telecommunications Union will meet in Dubai to discuss ways to control the international exchange of Internet traffic across countries and how to extract money from it.

Gorden Crovitz, writing in The Wall Street Journal on November 25th summed up the danger this represents. “Having the Internet rewired by bureaucrats would be like handing aa Stradivarius to a gorilla.”

He noted that “The Internet is made up of 40,000 networks that interconnect among 425,000 global routes, cheaply and efficiently delivering messages and other digital content among more than two billion people around the world, with some 500,000 new users a day.” More importantly, “The self-regulating Internet means no one has to ask permission to launch a website, and no government can tell network operators how to do their jobs.”

It is an irony that the Internet had been the platform by which Egyptians came together to overthrow its longtime dictator, Hosni Mubarak, but which has led to the takeover by the Muslim Brotherhood and a new constitution that is based on sharia law; a huge step back to the seventh century that makes women chattel and endorses slavery. One step forward, ten steps back.

Control over the Internet is control over the free flow of ideas and information. It is control over a large portion of the world’s population. Authoritarian nations hate it and seek to control it. Its implementation would turn the world into one large prison camp.

There are other UN treaties that need rejection and the U.S. Senate this week did reject the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities which former Sen. Rick Santorum, joined by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) denounced as a “direct assault on us and our families.” It, too, was an attack on our national sovereignty and the rights of parents to determine how their children are educated and cared for. It was signed by President Obama in 2009, but the Senate’s action avoided its ratification. A treaty on small-arms control would render the Second Amendment null and void.

For years conservatives have called for the withdrawal of the United States from the United Nations. That act alone would likely collapse this evil international institution. It won’t happen so long as the current administration is in power.

Vote to Save America! – Tea Party Nation

Vote to Save America! – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

No previous election has ever held the fate of the nation in its hands since the reelection of Abraham Lincoln in the midst of the Civil War. If Obama is elected, he will continue his agenda to drive this nation to the point of financial collapse and leave behind millions of Americans without jobs or any hope for the future.

And that includes the liberal retards who will vote for him in an election that is, according to the pundits, too close to call. There is something terribly frightening to contemplate that half the voters will vote to continue his planned destruction and his potential for declaring himself President for Life. He is the classic tyrant.

Any voter who pulls the lever for any candidate who speaks of “climate change”, the replacement for the failed “global warming” hoax, should be soundly defeated. Whether they actually believe the Earth is in peril or whether they are just part of the Congressional candidates for the Senate and the House who spout the “party line”, these men and women must defeated before they inflict more damage on the economy.

The impact of Hurricane Sandy left millions in the Northeast without the most precious power we possess, electrical power. All life depends on it in our intricately technological society. Beyond that, it demonstrates the raw power of Nature. It demonstrates that it is not the Earth that needs to be saved, it is humanity.

Mitt Romney promises to repeal Obamacare and that is surely a priority. It seizes control of the best healthcare system in the world and it will doom senior citizens to death by denying them the care that a humane, caring society should never deny. To fund it, Obamacare has taken $716 billion from Medicare.

Mitt Romney promises to unleash the vast potential that our vast energy reserves, coal, natural gas, and oil, as well as nuclear power represent. Obama and his administration have sought to deny the billions these represent in wages and taxes.

You cannot “conserve” energy. You can either use it or not. When denied energy, a vast swath of the Northeast returned, literally, to the Dark Ages.

Mitt Romney and a Republican controlled Congress will rein in a totally rogue federal government agency, the Environmental Protection Agency. The power it possesses and intends to expand through unconstitutional and unscientific regulations has thwarted every kind of economic growth for decades, but that process accelerated under Obama and must be stopped. The powers of the EPA must be returned to the governance of the individual states.

The power and prestige of the United States has been deeply wounded during the past four years. Obama has bowed to foreign leaders, has supported despots of every description, and made it clear that he is no friend to Israel, a beckon of democracy and sanity in the Middle East. He would allow Iran to become a nuclear nation by default and that cannot be allowed.

Our military must be rebuilt. The U.S. guarantees the freedom of the world’s seas and oceans, but it lacks a navy large enough to ensure that in both the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Obama has allowed our air power to decline and he has shrunk our army and marine forces. He has presided over the reduction of our nuclear arms.

In the face of the greatest Islamic challenge to the West he has encouraged the “Arab Spring” with a show of weakness and his behavior with regard to the murder of our ambassador to Libya and three of his staff demonstrates his indifference to the lives of those charged with protecting U.S. interests. Worse yet, his lies about the attack in Benghazi, by itself, renders him unworthy of the office of Commander-in-Chief.

In Afghanistan, the lives of American soldiers have become nothing more than a cruel sacrifice in a nation riven with corruption, unworthy of support. There will never been democracy there or elsewhere in the Middle East.

The Middle East is an Islamic cesspool and should be allowed to wallow in its own inherent violence. If our oil reserves had been developed here, we would have no need to rely on imports and a President Romney will set that in motion.

It is a sad commentary on America that half of its citizens have been indoctrinated to accept the lies of Socialism, ceded its sovereignty to the United Nations, and have permitted the federal government to grow so large it represents a threat to our Constitutional freedoms and liberties.

It is a rebuke to America that voters elected a man who is not a “native born” citizen by virtue of having a Kenyan father. The Constitution is undisputable on this. He did not and does not have a legal right to hold the office of President.

It is a sad commentary that the voters in 2008 allowed a man with no paper trail to demonstrate his ability to perform the duties of the office of President. The soaring oratory, provided to him by the ever-present Tele-Prompters promised “hope and change”, but we have been left without hope of a better future and a change that has the look and feel of a totalitarian government.

If you want to know where America under Obama is heading, one need only look at California, a state so besotted by Progressive politics that it is on the verge of financial collapse after having driven out thousands of its citizens to other states and countless companies, large and small, that existed there. Those who remain are choking to death on taxes and insane environmental mandates. Its agricultural sector has been denied water to irrigate crops.

An administration that would deny the purchase of firearms to Americans as guaranteed by the Second Amendment has ironically become the reason more and more Americans have purchased them, fearing an oppressive government and even anarchy.

I could cite many other reasons to defeat Obama, but there are two that stand out from all the others. He is a Communist. Raised, nurtured, and mentored by Communists; a friend to Communists; an enemy of Capitalism.

He is a LIAR and a pathological narcissist, indifferent to the political process of negotiation and compromise; indifferent to the fate of millions of Americans from the very young to the very old.
He does not like America.

The fate of the nation lies in the hands of “independents” who are uncommitted to either political party. The Democratic Party has become the pawn of Socialists who would turn the nation into a Communist nanny state. The history of all such governments has been the death of millions in Russia, in China, and wherever else they have been voted into power or simply seized it.

The Republican Party seeks to conserve the fundamentals of what has made America a super power in every respect.

A week without power in the Northeast such as I have experienced is a metaphor for what every America will experience if Obama is reelected.

Scandal – Tea Party Nation

Scandal – Tea Party Nation.

Posted by Judson Phillips

This is now growing to be the biggest scandal in American Presidential history.   If the mainstream media were objective instead of part of the propaganda arm of the Obama Regime, this story would be headline material.

You may know what the story is, but there are shocking details you may not know.  What must we do about this scandal?

The scandal is the attack on our American consulate in Benghazi.  This scandal has gone from bad to worse.  Usually it is the cover up that is worse than the scandal.  Remember, it was the cover-up, not the break in at the Watergate that brought down Richard Nixon.

For two weeks, the Obama Regime lied to us about the attack, claiming that this was not an organized terrorist attack but a response to an anti-Muslim film.  Every member of the Regime was dutifully trotted out to not only lie to the American people but to make a full frontal assault on the First Amendment.

Then we find out that Hillary Clinton and others in the State Department had requested more security for the Benghazi site and Obama denied that request.

The media reporting on the attack on the compound makes it sound like the Compound was quickly over run.  Former Navy Seals Glenn Doherty and Tyrone Woods were part of a unit that was near by.  They repeatedly asked for assistance and fought for seven hours before being killed.

Part of the compound was a CIA operation to help track down weapons missing since the end of the Qaddafi regime.  The existence of this CIA operation and its headquarters was apparently an open secret in Libya.

As the CIA operators called for help, a CIA paramilitary team was a mile away and was told repeatedly to stand down.  Special operations forces, including C-130 Specter gunships were an hour away.

They were not sent.   Reports are now coming out that there was a drone over Benghazi at the time sending back real time images to the White House.

Now even more reports are coming out that the slain Ambassador Chris Stevens may have been up to his eyeballs recruiting jihadists for Syria.  Before his death, a freighter from Libya, with a Captain from Benghazi docked in Turkey carrying 400 tons for weapons for the rebels fighting in Syria.  These included sophisticated surface to air missiles.  These surface to air missiles are shoulder fired, meaning they are very portable and only need one or two people to fire them.  This is an arms smuggling scandal that could make the former Iran-Contra scandal look insignificant.

According to Aaron Klein at WND, the Consulate itself was not a consulate but an operations hub that served to coordinate aid for rebel led insurgencies through out the Middle East.

The weapons that Chris Stevens and the American government were helping to smuggle to Syria, with the help of the Islamist government in Ankara, were going to not to the secular moderates, but to Al-Qaeda type terrorists.

Republicans have a habit of coming into power and deciding they are simply going to ignore scandals from the previous Democrat administration.

 This cannot happen this time.

Mitt Romney’s first priority when he is sworn in must be the economy.   That is good.  But he needs to find a really tough Attorney General and tell him to launch an investigation, get to the bottom of what happened and present the matter to a Federal Grand Jury and start getting indictments and convictions.

When an American President leaves Americans to die the way Obama did, it is criminal.  When American forces that could easily help are told repeatedly to stand down, and other Americans who are calling for help are killed, it is murder.   When American officials are funneling weapons to Al-Qaeda type terrorists, weapons that one-day might be used against us, that is not just wrong.  It is illegal.

Republicans far too often treat Democrats as “Members of the club.”  That club being the political class that runs Washington.  They believe there are certain courtesies you give to members of the club, including covering for them.  Remember what the Clinton administration people did to the White House when George W. Bush was sworn in?  What did Bush do?  He simply ignored it.

Remember what happened to Bill Clinton and the independent investigation into his conduct?  The day before he left office, it ended with a joke.   He paid a $25,000 fine to resolve the issues related to the Monica Lewinsky scandal and agreed to be disbarred in Arkansas.    On the last day in office, he pardoned Marc Rich, a fugitive financier.  Many have argued that this was done in exchange for various contributions.  That might have been bribery but the Republicans would not investigate.

The American people are tired of business as usual.  The Benghazi scandal is the biggest scandal ever to reach a President.  There have been other scandals but no one died in those scandals.

If Mitt Romney’s administration will not investigate and prosecute this because it is the right thing to do, then they should do it out of a sense of self-defense.

Obama’s “Arab Spring” which has toppled regimes all over the Middle East, has opened the door for terrorists to acquire not only surface to air missiles but also possibly chemical WMD’s.  Thousands of these shoulder fired surface to air missiles that were in Libya are now missing.

It is not a question of if, but only when some of those weapons will be used against America.

If the Romney administration does not aggressively investigate and prosecute those responsibly early, the Democrats will show them no such mercy.

Can Obama’s Foreign Policies Suck Any Worse? – Tea Party Nation

Can Obama’s Foreign Policies Suck Any Worse? – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

Other than the sound bites on the TV news, I doubt that most people have actually read Mitt Romney’s Monday speech at the Virginia Military Institute. It was extraordinary and demonstrated a grasp of the many regions of the world that pose problems for their citizens, their neighbors, and, in some cases, the whole world.

The world always has been and likely always will be a dangerous place somewhere. When I look at the United Nations headquarters in New York, what I see is a place that would make a decent condominium, complete with its own theatre, because it is the most failed international institution on Earth.

Even though the UN has 192 members, the U.S. in 2010 contributed on average between 22% and 27% of the budgets for thirty-seven UN organizations, agencies, commissions, and programs. With the exception of Western member nations, the UN is a cruel charade about peace, human rights, and democracy.

There’s an independent watchdog organization called Freedom House that performs a valuable service by surveying the nations of the world to identify those where freedom is still struggling to emerge. In its recent report, “Countries at the Crossroads 2012” it spells out where the trouble spots are and, without intending to, it is also a global map of Obama’s pathetic foreign affairs policies.

If you put the Freedom House report side-by-side with Mitt Romney’s speech text, you would discover that he has a remarkable grasp of the realities of the shifting dynamics of world affairs. As he said in his speech, “Hope is not a strategy.” If anything, Obama’s strategies—assuming he even has any—have demonstrably weakened America’s role in the Middle East and throughout the world. A President who does not attend daily intelligence briefings as those before him did is quite simply absent without leave.

Freedom House analyst, Vanessa Tucker, says bluntly that “The weakness of the governance institutions in the Middle Eastern and North African countries can be seen in the riots occurring across the region and the authorities’ inability to respond effectively to unrest. After decades of corrupt and repressive rule, citizens in these states are facing brutal and ineffective security forces, habitually divisive and confrontational politics, and a lack of productive avenues through which to lodge their grievances and assert their rights.”

Most Americans cannot even imagine living in such places, but most Americans have not lived in nations where Islam, an inherently oppressive faith system, is the rule and where often secular despots enforce it to their personal gain.

It’s not just the Middle East. In Latin America there has been a surge of violence and organized crime—drug cartels—have not hesitate to kill journalists in Mexico and Honduras, affecting as well the political process in Mexico and in Guatemala. In Asian nations, particularly Sri Lanka and Vietnam, Indonesia and Cambodia, the governments continue to restrict freedom of expression. South Africa is suffering the dominance of the African National Congress and there are electoral abuses in Malawi and Uganda. Tanzania and Zimbabwe are cesspools of corruption.

Romney’s speech was filled with specifics, but you would not know that from the way it was generally under-reported.

# Romney identified the attacks in Libya and against our embassies in “two dozen other countries, mostly in the Middle East, but also in Africa and Asia” as evidence of widespread anti-Americanism. They were, he said, the work of those “who seek perpetual war on the West.” Can you spell j-i-h-a-d? Romney can.

# Romney said, “I will put the leaders of Iran on notice that the United States and allies will prevent them from acquiring nuclear weapons capability.” By contrast, Obama has done everything he can to reduce the U.S. nuclear arsenal.

# Romney said, “I will roll back President Obama’s deep and arbitrary cuts to our national defense that would devastate our military. I will make critical defense investments that we need to remain secure. The first purpose of a strong military is to prevent war.” That is a lesson that even the ancient Greeks understood when they said “Si vis pacem, para bellum” If you want peace, plan for war.

# Romney said “I will champion free trace and restore it as a critical element of our strategy…the President has not signed one new free trade agreement in the past four years. I will reverse that failure.”

I have never lived in an America that was not a world leader and, following WWII, a superpower. For more than four decades the U.S. faced off against the former Soviet Union until its collapse. The U.S. Navy has kept the sea lanes of the world open. The U.S. has gone to war when it was deemed the only option.

Obama has been the first President since George Washington to assert that “any world order that elevates one nation or group over another will inevitably fail.” A world that looks to the U.S. for leadership has witnessed the failure of Obama’s foreign policy.

We can only continue our exceptional role if we get our fiscal house in order and that means ridding the nation of the most profligate chief executive in our history. We can rebuild our military and create thousands of jobs in the process. We can tap our enormous energy reserves and create more thousands of jobs. We can lift the regulatory burden from businesses large and small. We can reform our tax laws.

We can make ourselves and our allies safer in an ever-dangerous world, but not if we have a President whose only strategy for peace and security is “hope.” It is no substitute for leadership and preparedness.

RUMSFELD: Obama is wrong for America on Election Day – Washington Times

RUMSFELD: Obama is wrong for America on Election Day – Washington Times.

Voters will go Republican way

By Donald H. Rumsfeld

With the presidential election only a few weeks away, it’s appropriate to discuss where our country is today, and what it can be in the years ahead.

A few weeks ago, Vice President Joe Biden, in his convention acceptance speech, exclaimed, “America is not in decline.” It strikes me when the vice president feels he has to stand up and say that, it’s a bit like acknowledging that America is in decline and that the world senses it, but he doesn’t want to admit it. Let me be clear — I do not believe America is destined to stay on its current trajectory toward becoming a second-rate nation. It can be reversed. Indeed, it must be reversed.

No other nations, no foreign ideology, no militant movement can, alone, obstruct our path to achieve an even greater America. Only our own leaders can stand in the way of the American people’s rendezvous with their future, and it is the American people who will make those decisions.

Reversing this downward trend requires an honest accounting of where we are and how we got here. Reversing the trends of the last four years requires changing the leadership at the top. We have a president and an administration who routinely dismiss the work ethic that has made our country an exceptional nation and seek to replace respect for personal responsibility with envy and division, making America a place where earned success is resented rather than respected.

Of most concern, we have a president and an administration who fundamentally misunderstand the world situation today.

Almost four years ago, President Obama traveled to Egypt. In a way only this president could phrase it, he said, “I’ve come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect.” He promised a radical departure from the policies of the previous eight years. He vowed to rein in our ally Israel and to make the Palestinian effort for statehood central to his administration’s foreign policy.

The president went on to say that after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, “fear and anger led us to act contrary to our ideals.” He went to another country and contended that our fear and our anger led America to act against our ideals. In other words, after terrorists killed thousands of our citizens, we were the problem. Is there any other way anyone with an understanding of the English language could interpret his statement?

This, in fact, has been a theme running through this presidency — to blame America and Americans. We saw it when he apologized for acts the United States had been involved in over the past 100 years. And we see it day after day as the president excuses failure after failure of his presidency by castigating his predecessor.

I served with President Obama’s predecessor. I watched him up close. Because of his leadership, our nation did not simply pound sand after the terrorist attack on our soil. He went after the enemy, destroyed their leadership and put their operatives on the run. His administration rid two nations of two of the world’s most brutal dictatorships. And millions in the Middle East, for the first time in their lives, have at least a chance to be free.

Most Americans do not apologize for our country. Certainly, the hardworking Americans who make up the backbone of our nation do not. On the contrary, they feel deep pride in who we are, what we have achieved and what we stand for.

Like them, President Bush did not apologize for the United States. He knows that America is not what’s wrong with the world. America, even with our imperfections, remains what is most right with the world.

Across Middle Eastern and Islamic capitals, we are seeing our American embassies and consulates overrun and burned, walls breached and windows smashed. Diplomats and security personnel have been killed. American flags flying high and proud above our diplomatic outposts have been torn down, desecrated and set aflame, and some replaced by the banner of al Qaeda. This is the response to the president’s so-called “new era of civility and understanding.” What we are seeing is what the president has described as “some bumps in the road.”

Instead of taking a firm stance against those who attack our embassies and our diplomats, this administration reserves its harshest words of condemnation for a provocateur video maker. One U.S. embassy issued an abject apology and a condemnation of those who “hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.” Instead of defending the constitutional right of free speech, our senior officials excused rage and rioting.

Recall the various excuses that supposedly have led radical Islamists to kill in the name of God: Early on it was a book by Salman Rushdie. Then it was American troops in Saudi Arabia. Then it was Danish cartoons of Muhammad. Then it was Guantanamo Bay. Then U.S. support for Israel. Then it was supposedly global warming, as Ayman al-Zawahri and Osama bin Laden once wrote. And now it is a Web video practically no one has seen.

This is not what motivates them to murder innocents. These are weak, convenient justifications that are all too willingly accepted. Yet our nation’s current leaders seem more interested in making excuses for our enemies than in defending the ideals on which America was founded.

The problem is not with America. It is with an intolerant, backward ideology championed by radical Islamists — an ideology that is so intolerant it belongs in the Middle Ages, not in the Middle East; an ideology diametrically opposed to our ideas of freedom and equality.

The radical Islamists have an ideology that insists that half the population not participate in commerce and public life; an ideology that sees Israel as the focus of evil in this world to be incinerated and its ashen remnants pushed into the sea; an ideology that shuns science and innovation for a return to the seventh century; an ideology that denies individual freedom and economic freedom alike; an ideology that revels in a cult of death and martyrdom; an ideology that denies the very existence of the nation state; an ideology that seeks retribution for supposed wrongs inflicted in past centuries instead of working to build a better future.

When Mr. Obama went to Cairo in 2009, did he fail to realize that this radical ideology existed? Or did he simply choose to ignore it? Because the ideology is a fact. It exists in many corners of our world today, and in all of those corners — right now — are violent men planning to come out and attack the innocent.

So we as a citizenry have the right and responsibility to ask: Has apologizing for America and denying that we should take a leading role in global affairs led others to love us, or even to like us?

Has it led them to respect us? Quite the contrary.

When upheaval swept the Arab world in 2011, the epicenter was Cairo. An American ally was tossed aside in favor of the rule of the streets. The Muslim Brotherhood is now in control — not because they have the backing of a majority of people, but because they are the strongest and best organized. And our president doesn’t know whether Egypt is an ally or not.

All of this has sent an unambiguous message: It is that America is weak and in decline; that ours is a nation that is an unreliable friend and a weak enemy; that we are at best a spectator of global affairs — not a leader; that we aspire to be lesser. A lesser America is not an America to be respected.

Through my 80 plus years, I have seen the dangers of a perception of weakness. Weakness is provocative. It is an invitation.

This is an administration in which the lawyers, academics and the wordsmiths who populate their ranks characterize acts of terrorism as “man-caused disasters,” and the Fort Hood killings as “workplace violence.” They use phrases like “leading from behind,” or “transnational governance” and “pooling” our nation’s sovereignty with other countries. They seem to believe America’s policies should be based on an international consensus of the nations that dominate the United Nations General Assembly, instead of on our Constitution and the decisions of our elected representatives.

Take, for example, the Law of the Sea Treaty, which is still perilously close to being ratified by the U.S. Senate. This is a scheme that has been kicking around for decades, the idea being that developed nations like ours should give hundreds of billions of dollars in royalties to countries that have no part in exploration or extraction of mineral, oil and gas resources in the world’s oceans, those billions to be spent by many with views fundamentally contrary to ours.

The Obama administration has promoted the Law of the Sea Treaty and seems to have bought into the false nobility of global governance.

Why should the American people support leaders who put American interests on equal footing with foreign interests? Aren’t they elected to represent “We the People” — not “We are the World”?

For a moment, recall what the president told Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, in what was supposed to be a private conversation but was caught by a nearby microphone: President Obama said, “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this can be solved, but it’s important for him [Vladimir Putin] to give me space. This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.”

Think about that. It’s breathtaking. Here is an American president who claims he is standing strong for vital American interests, but behind closed doors is promising the president of Russia that if he wins, he’s ready to concede to Mr. Putin by abandoning a missile defense system that has as its purpose defending our people, our friends and our allies.

It says volumes about his lack of respect for the intelligence of the American people. And it screams the question: What else might he be planning to do after he is no longer accountable to the American people?

A few weeks back, Gov. Mitt Romney was criticized in the press for bringing up Mr. Obama’s national security record — that was shortly after he was being criticized for slighting foreign policy issues during the campaign. Pundits said it was an inopportune time to criticize the president in the wake of the assassination of the U.S. ambassador to Libya. Utter nonsense. Where was the president after the three Americans and our ambassador were killed in Libya? He flew off to Las Vegas for still another fundraiser, with barely a word of criticism heard.

In every election I have witnessed over the past many decades, foreign policy has played a role. And it should. Indeed, it must. In fact, this campaign has focused too little on national security policy. We live in a dangerous world.

Mr. Romney is right to point out the differences in his view of America’s role in the world from the president’s views. The differences are notable.

We should welcome a critique of the national security policies of the past four years. Someone has to do it. Too often, the press is spoon-fed leaks designed to make the president look decisive. The nation’s secrets are plastered across newspapers, served up as scoops to reporters friendly to the administration.

Within hours of our special operation forces taking bin Laden’s body from that compound in Pakistan, operational details of the raid were in the press. As a result, a Pakistani doctor reportedly involved in the operation was arrested and sentenced to prison, where he remains. What has to be one of the most classified programs — cyberwarfare tools used against Iran — were confirmed as an American effort by “members of the president’s national security team.”

This kind of airbrushing and distortion of the actual record can be effective — for a while — but I have faith in the American people. They know right from wrong. They have sound inner compasses that, over time, help them sift through scraps of information and make sound judgments. And come November, they will use their inner compasses to make the right choice for the next president of the United States.

Obama’s Bad News Blues – Tea Party Nation

Obama’s Bad News Blues – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

I suspect that Barack Obama has been told by his pollsters that he is going to lose.

Most certainly whenever Messeurs Axelrod and Ploufe, his political brain trust, get on television to respond to questions about how he will fix the economy, all one hears are the same tired excuses and empty promises. The news headlines these days tell another story.

Headline – Libya: The White House handling of the Libyan attack has already been dubbed “Benghazi-Gate” and revealed the level of contempt the White House has for the intelligence of Americans. Bad enough Americans are angry that an American ambassador lost his life in a 9/11 anniversary al Qaeda attack, no one with ten brain cells to rub together believes it was about an amateur movie no one had seen.

Headline – Afghanistan: After wars in Afghanistan—still ongoing—and in Iraq, Americans are extremely wary of the U.S. becoming embroiled in more conflict and yet Obama’s handing of foreign affairs, particularly in the Middle East, appears to have exacerbated events there. An unavoidable conflict with Iran looms ahead and Americans believe that Israel and our homeland must be defended. Obama gives little indication he would, but a President Romney leaves no doubt in their minds.

Headline – Foreign Policy: Overall, the impression is that Obama has weakened the nation when it comes to foreign policy despite the fact that it, along with defense, is a primary duty of any President. All the electric cars and bankrupt solar companies are no substitute.

Headline – Energy: The vast reservoirs of oil, natural gas, and coal that have either been under attack or restricted by the Obama administration along with the jobs they represent. Yet another reason for voters to elect Romney. Obama’s decision to deter the building of the XL Pipeline from Canada is still relatively fresh in the minds of voters and the shutdown of coal mines and power plants has had a ripple effect among those who make their living in these industries.

Headline – Fast and Furious: Still another scandal is bubbling up to the surface of voter concern. “Fast and Furious”, a Justice Department gun-running fiasco that got a U.S. border guard killed along with hundreds of Mexicans was just featured on Univision, a popular channel among Hispanics, and the White House has been counting on that demographic for support.

Headline: Gay Marriage: Obama’s refusal to uphold the Defense of Marriage Act and his endorsement of gay marriage could prove a deal-breaker among a lot of people who might otherwise vote for him.

Headline – Obamacare: I think the White House continues to underestimate the level of anger over having Obamacare forced upon us. Most polls show that at least half or more respondents expect it to be repealed IF Romney is elected and guess who they will vote for? Having taken $716 billion out of Medicare to pay for Obamacare, the reality of death panels has no appeal for the nation’s senior citizens who vote in large numbers.

Headline – Vacations: The lavish lifestyle of the Obama’s while he has been President had not been lost on a nation in which 23 million Americans cannot find a job or have given up looking for one. The debt load on new college graduates is cause for much less enthusiasm for a second Obama term in office.

Headline – The Economy: In the end, it is the economy that will dominate the outcome of the election and, no matter what the polls say—now widely regarded as manipulative—and what the mainstream media reports, the facts and the failures of the Obama years are known to Americans no matter how many times he tries to blame Bush for them. The stimulus failed. The Federal Reserve’s quantitative easing (printing money) has failed. Add in 43 straight months of unemployment at 8% (but actually closer to 12% to 15%). There is no recovery and no prospect of one if Obama is reelected.

It adds up to a torrent of bad news for Obama and that, dear reader, is the good news as the elections on November 6 draw closer with every passing day.
