Inside the Beltway: Libertarians question gun-free zones – Washington Times.

2nd-Amendment-Cartoon“We’ve created a ‘gun-free zone,’ a killing zone, for the sickest criminals on the face of the Earth,” says R. Lee Wrights, vice chairman of the Libertarian Party, in the aftermath of the Newtown, Conn., killings. “And we’ve made the children of this country the victims.”

The 1990 Federal Gun Free Schools Zone Act, which prohibits carrying firearms on school grounds in most cases, “criminalizes the right to self-defense in places filled with the most vulnerable citizens,” Mr. Wrights says. He argues that would-be shooters would be deterred by “merely the knowledge” that armed people could be present in a potential target area. “They’re not going to walk into a police station, and why not? Because that’s where the guns are,” Mr. Wrights observes, adding that after 9/11, Congress allowed firearms in airline cockpits.

bretterbring“It’s time to take the same approach with teachers, school administrators, and security guards, who should be allowed to carry the tools necessary to protect the students in their care,” Mr. Wrights adds, insisting that gun-free zone policies should be re-examined.

“We must stop blinding ourselves to the obvious: Most of these mass killings are happening at schools where self-defense is prohibited,” says Carla Howell, executive director of the Libertarian Party. “Gun prohibition sets the stage for the slaughter of innocent children. We must repeal these anti-self-defense laws now to minimize the likelihood they will occur in the future, and to limit the damage done when they do.”

Some continue to ponder the influence of graphically violent video games and movies following Newtown. “The violence in the entertainment culture — particularly, with the extraordinary realism to video games, movies now, et cetera — does cause vulnerable young men to be more violent. It doesn’t make everybody more violent, but it’s a causative factor in some cases. We ought to ask the entertainment community, what are you going to do to tone that down?” Sen. Joe Lieberman, Connecticut Independent, told Fox News Sunday.

A1oY9n6CQAImJcc.jpg largeHe suggested more scrutiny from Capitol Hill policymakers. “In our society, you always try to do it voluntarily. But I think we’ve come to a point where you’ve got to say, if not, maybe there’s some things we can do to tone it down,” Mr. Lieberman said.

Former presidential hopeful and Fox News host Mike Huckabee had another explanation.

“We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?” Mr. Huckabee asked.

“Because we’ve made schools a place where we don’t want to talk about eternity, life, what responsibility means, accountability. That we’re not just going to have be accountable to the police if they catch us, but one day we stand before, you know, a holy God in judgment. If we don’t believe that, then we don’t fear that,” Mr. Huckabee told Fox Business Network anchor Neil Cavuto.

gun-control“The public broadly perceives that Americans themselves are divided over core values. Nearly seven in 10 Americans say the country is divided when it comes to the most important values, while 29 percent believe Americans are largely in agreement and united,” says Gallup analyst Lydia Saad.

New findings reveal that 80 percent of Republicans cite this divide, along with 63 percent of Democrats.

“The difficulty President Obama and Congress are having in coming to agreement on important issues may, therefore, not be unique to Washington; rather, it may generally reflect the way things are — or at least are perceived to be — in the country more broadly. Whether that is a bad thing, or the natural result of the United States’ large size, diversity, and freedoms that allow political arguments to go on unfettered, is a separate issue,” Ms. Saad notes.

A new rating of the most “democratic” nations on the planet places the U.S. in 15th place in a list of 104 countries. The Vienna-based Democracy Ranking Assoc. offers an annual assessment of the “quality” of democracy among the populations, taking into account such factors as political rights, civil liberty, press freedom, corruption, political stability, “gender gap” issues and myriad socioeconomic indicators.

The top 10 nations on the list are Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, New Zealand, Germany, Ireland and Austria.

“The United States dropped from ranking position 14 to 15, but improved in scores from 78.3 to 78.5, with gains in politics, environment, health, and knowledge, but losses in economy and gender,” the report said.

comegetCanada, Belgium, Britain and Australia outrank the U.S. The nations with the lowest rankings are Guinea-Bissau, Togo, Libya, Syria and in last place, Yemen. See the findings here:

• 61 percent of U.S. voters are concerned that Obama administration policies “will move the country toward socialism”; 89 percent of Republicans and 38 percent of Democrats agree.

• 49 percent of voters overall say the economy will be better in the next year; 20 percent of Republicans and 79 percent of Democrats agree.

• 42 percent of voters overall expect President Obama to be considered a great or good president; 7 percent of Republicans and 77 percent of Democrats agree.

• 38 percent overall expect Mr. Obama to be considered below average, or “one of the worst presidents”; 73 percent of Republicans and 5 percent of Democrats agree.

• 42 percent overall say that 2012 was a “good” year; 28 percent of Republicans and 57 percent of Democrats agree.

• 41 percent say 2012 was a “bad” year; 57 percent of Republicans and 25 percent of Democrats agree.

The weapon that wins – Tea Party Nation

The weapon that wins – Tea Party Nation.

As we go into the 2012 election, there is a weapon that we have that can win this election for America.  Winning the election means we get Barack Obama out of the White House.  It is so powerful; it could do immeasurable damage to the Party of Treason.

What is it and how do we use it?

One of the amazing things about this movement is some of the incredible people you meet.  One of the most amazing people I have met is my good friend Wayne Allen Root in Las Vegas.

Wayne is a professional Vegas odds maker and has led an unbelievable life.  He was also allegedly a classmate of Barack Obama at Columbia University.  I say allegedly because we know Wayne went to Columbia.  We cannot say the same for Barack Obama.

Wayne was not only at Columbia during the same time Barack Obama allegedly was, but he, like Obama, was a political science major.  Wayne says he knew almost every one in the Political Science Department when he was at Columbia.

He did not know Barack Obama.

He has talked to friends who were at Columbia while he was.  None of them knew or even remember Barack Obama.   Wayne says there is a huge scandal there and it could bring down Obama’s Presidency.

While Wayne is not the first one to suggest anything like this, he perhaps has a better pedigree than almost anyone else.

Not only is Obama not remembered by people at Columbia, he refuses to release his college records from Columbia, or Occidental college where he went prior. Heck, he won’t  even release his records from Harvard, though people do remember him at that particular school.

One of the great mysteries that the drive-by media will not look at is how Obama, who admits he was a poor student, went from Occidental, to Ivy League Columbia and then to the top of the list at Harvard.

 Wayne offers a theory.

He says Obama was admitted to Occidental and to Columbia as a foreign exchange student.   The story that Obama went to Occidental on a foreign exchange program is not new to Wayne.  This story has been floating around for four years now.

If Obama got into these schools as a foreign exchange student, it would explain how he got into schools he could not otherwise academically qualify for and how he was able to pay for them.

Let’s assume for a moment Wayne is right.  Let’s say Obama applied to these schools as a foreign exchange student.   One does not simply fill out an application, say I am a foreign student and leave it at that.  There must be some evidence that the person is a foreign student.

We know from Barack Obama’s biographies that his mother eventually remarried an Indonesian man who adopted Obama and that Obama was raised in Indonesia.   If this foreign national adopted Obama, he may well have lost his citizenship as a result of this.

Is there some documentation on those college records that shows Barack Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, is actually a citizen of Indonesia?

Most establishment Republicans will not touch the eligibility issue.  Many derisively called it the “birther” issue.  This is not about where Barack Obama was born.  This is whether or not he is a citizen and this is based on facts we already know.

Obama and his team have gone on the offensive.  Why try to explain their refusal to release records when they can go after Romney for his refusal to release his tax returns.

Why Romney and the Republican establishment will not hit back on this issue is simply beyond me.

What happens if those records come out and there is evidence that Barack Obama claimed to be Indonesian in college or lets say there is documentary evidence that he is in fact a citizen of Indonesia?

Obama would be ineligible to be President.  Everything he did as President would be void.   It would not just be voidable it would be void.

In many ways, that would create a huge mess to clean up but it would give the Republicans so many opportunities.

Obamacare?  That would be gone.  The President never signed it into law.  Two Supreme Court Justices?  Gone.  Hundreds of other federal judges?  Gone.

How do we push this issue that the Republicans won’t touch and the drive by media is doing their best to ignore?

It is simple.  We use conservative media as well as social media to get the word out.   We can.

This is how Chick-fil-A appreciation day started.  It began on Mike Huckabee’s show and spread through the blogosphere.

We need to do the same thing.  Every time the media and the left ask about Romney releasing his records, we need to hit back on Obama’s college records.  We can use the same standard the left does.  He is guilty until proven innocent.

Therefore, Obama is not an American citizen until he proves that he did not go to college on a foreign exchange scholarship.

We can win this.  We can undo the damage that Barack Obama has done to this nation.

 Who wants to win?

Rowdy Cluckers: The Chick-fil-A Rebellion – Doug Giles –

Well, the anti-Chick-fil-A thing sort of backfired, now didn’t it? Yep, the rabid gay crowd thought they were going to shut CFA down, but instead their fascist demands that Chick-fil-A’s Presidente Dan Cathy repent of his free speech actually catapulted the fast food chain into record profits. Cha-ching!

I have one word for that homo faux pas of trying to stifle a private company’s free speech, it’s: Ahahaha. Boy, you guys really read the pulse of the American people … Not.

Now, I will give the onerous gay activists this: Aside from the huge boom in ammo sales since Obama was elected, their boycott of Chick-fil-A actually spurred the first definitive economic stimulus of the Obama era. Muchas gracias.

Look, I knew this anti-free speech/chicken sandwich protest was going to go south when frickin’ Rahm Emanuel and Edwin Mah Lee got out in front of it. They represent America about as much as I represent PETA. I kept waiting for Mugatu from Zoolander to pop out and join them by slaughtering live chickens in a Foghorn Leghorn outfit while dancing to “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me” in front of some Chippendale boys. But, alas! It didn’t happen. Who can I sue?

If there’s one thing I know about Americans it’s that they love Chick-fil-A and free speech. I guess that would be two things. And Americans peacefully showing up in the hundreds of thousands last Wednesday to Chick-fil-A restaurants from sea to shining sea showed anyone with a lick of sense that Americans are not quite ready to bow and kiss the ring of a special interest group that wants to mitigate other people’s rights to freedom of expression just because they don’t kowtow to theirs.

Which brings me to this query: What’s up with this BS that we’ve got to agree with someone’s view of gay sex before we can buy or sell chicken sandwiches? When did that edict get passed? We’re damn close to making Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi look like the most rosy, easygoing consommé ladler around.

And finally, how come the gay activists got their national dander up over Chick-fil-A’s exec not being down with Brad and Chad getting engaged, yet I haven’t heard them say diddly squat about their intentions to stage a national “Kiss In” at any American mosque or give the hundreds of black pastors who vehemently oppose gay marriage the same crap they’ve been giving Chick-fil-A. What’s the matter? You’re not scared to take them on, are you? You’re not chicken, are you?

I think this past August 1st is a foretaste of what’s coming this November 6th. It’s all about freedom for all, baby, and you dudes don’t get it. But Americans do. And they showed up in droves and waited in hot lines for hours to demonstrate they will not be bullied.
