Why Obama Should Not Be Allowed to Take the Oath of Office Again – Tea Party Nation

Why Obama Should Not Be Allowed to Take the Oath of Office Again – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

If anyone had read any of the many books that have examined President Obama’s life and his many questionable qualifications for office, including a Social Security number that appears to have been purloined from someone else, he should not be allowed to take the oath of office for a second time.

Here are just some of the books I have received and read over the first four years of his disastrous first term:

The Obama Nation by Jerome Corsi

Where’s the Birth Certificate? By Jerome Corsi

Deconstructing Obama by Jack Cashill

The Blueprint: Obama’s Plan to Subvert the Constitution And Build an Imperial Presidency by Ken Blackwell & Ken Klukowski

The Post-American Presidency by Pamela Geller with Robert Spencer

The Audacity of Deceit: Barack Obama’s War on American values by Brad O’Leary

The Communist: Frank Marshall Davis, The Untold Story of Barack Obama by Paul Kengor

An American Obsession: Race and Conflict in the Age of Obama by Seth A. Forman

If only one half or one quarter of the facts cited in these books were true, Obama has no legal right to be President and is committed to an ideology that seeks to undermine capitalism. He is set to take the oath of office a second time.

Few of these books received any of the attention they deserve in the mainstream media and all of the authors are at risk of being whisked off to jail as enemies of the state if the Bill of Rights continues to be eroded and ignored by the Obama administration.

To those who deride the “birthers” who have raised issues about his eligibility, Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch notes that “Even if born in America, Obama does not quality as a ‘natural born citizen’ under our Constitution, since he was not, as also required under our law to be president, sired by two American born parents. Only his mother was an American at the time of birth.”

Historians will look back at his first term and wonder how 51% of the voters reelected Obama when he added $6 trillion to the national debt (more than all Presidents who preceded him combined.) They will wonder how he got reelected in a nation with more than 26 million unemployed and 47 million on food stamps and other “safety net” programs including 99 weeks of unemployment checks.

They will wonder how his opponent promised to repeal Obamacare was defeated when many states have refused to set up the “exchanges” the law requires be created. Health insurance premiums will increase 25% to 30% on January 1, 2013. At the same time employers of more than 50 people will put most of them in a part-time status to avoid the increase to the cost of doing business, guaranteeing less work and less pay.

I recently received an email from Dr. Orly Taitz, an attorney who has filed many law suits alleging that Obama used “forged IDs, forged short form birth certificate, forged long form birth certificate, forged Selected Service certificate and fraudulently obtained Connecticut Social Security number, which Obama is using in his tax returns and which was never assigned to him according to e-verify.”

Any one of these charges should have been sufficient to keep Obama from taking his first oath of office and should foreclose any opportunity for a second one. If true, they nullify the forthcoming Electoral College decision regarding his right to be declared the winner of the 2012 elections.

This goes way beyond stuffing ballot boxes to steal an election. It is fraud that nullifies the Constitutional requirements–the laws– governing who may hold the highest office in the land.

We must also ask why there has been the failure or refusal of many elements of the nation’s judicial system to respond to the law suits, often declaring that the parties filing them have “no standing” before the courts to allege that Obama has defrauded Americans in order to be elected. Dr. Taitz’s release noted that Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy is set to rule on one such case just six days before the Electoral College meets.

We are taught in schools that America is a “nation of laws, not of men,” but this attack on our laws, aided and abetted by the Democratic Party that nominated Obama, is the most severe attack on the Constitution in modern times.

If Barack Hussein Obama is permitted to take the oath of office in the face of the documentation offered in the books cited above and the clear language of the U.S. Constitution, it will mark the end of the efficacy of law in America.

The Big Brother Society? – Tea Party Nation

The Big Brother Society? – Tea Party Nation.

coexistGeorge Orwell was an optimist.

And he had no clue as to what we would find with marriage of technology and tyranny.

We no longer have any privacy.  The government can now find out anything it wants to about us.   Big Brother is now watching us all.

 From the Wall Street Journal:

Top U.S. intelligence officials gathered in the White House Situation Room in March to debate a controversial proposal. Counterterrorism officials wanted to create a government dragnet, sweeping up millions of records about U.S. citizens—even people suspected of no crime.

Not everyone was on board. “This is a sea change in the way that the government interacts with the general public,” Mary Ellen Callahan, chief privacy officer of the Department of Homeland Security, argued in the meeting, according to people familiar with the discussions.

A week later, the attorney general signed the changes into effect.

Through Freedom of Information Act requests and interviews with officials at numerous agencies, The Wall Street Journal has reconstructed the clash over the counterterrorism program within the administration of President Barack Obama. The debate was a confrontation between some who viewed it as a matter of efficiency—how long to keep data, for instance, or where it should be stored—and others who saw it as granting authority for unprecedented government surveillance of U.S. citizens.

The rules now allow the little-known National Counterterrorism Center to examine the government files of U.S. citizens for possible criminal behavior, even if there is no reason to suspect them. That is a departure from past practice, which barred the agency from storing information about ordinary Americans unless a person was a terror suspect or related to an investigation.

comegetNow, NCTC can copy entire government databases—flight records, casino-employee lists, the names of Americans hosting foreign-exchange students and many others. The agency has new authority to keep data about innocent U.S. citizens for up to five years, and to analyze it for suspicious patterns of behavior. Previously, both were prohibited. Data about Americans “reasonably believed to constitute terrorism information” may be permanently retained.

The Constitution was put in place to restrain the government from abusing its citizens.  Now, we have swept aside the whole idea of the rights of the citizen standing above the power of the state.

Our founding fathers would be appalled by what is going on in government.

Given the government’s track record for abusing citizens and releasing information that could be embarrassing to those who oppose the government, we should all be very afraid.

The Internet is one of modern marvels of the world.  It started out as a simple government project to allow the government to be able to communicate wyoursignith other parts of the government in the event of a major disaster like nuclear war.

When it was opened up to the civilian world, it became the major economic engine of the early 21stCentury.

The Internet works amazingly well, so what are those geniuses we sent to Washington want to do? Here is a hint.  The word “fairness” is involved.

 How?

These idiots want to tax it.

That’s right.  They want to impose taxes.   There is a bill pending in the Senate to tax the Internet.  It is called the “Marketplace Fairness Act.”

You don’t need to know anything else other than when you see the word fairness in a bill it is a disaster waiting to happen.

Liberal Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander is leading this charge, along with Liberal member of the Party of Treason Dick Durbin and Mike Enzi (RINO-WY) are all trying to sneak this bill into the National Defense Authorization Act that would allow states to collect sales taxes from businesses on the Internet.

We are facing massive tax increases at the first of the year and these guys think we are not taxed enough!

These three clowns act like teenagers on a shopping spree down at the mall.  They want to spend more so they run to the ATM.

 Unfortunately we are their ATM.

First, what does this bill have to do with Defense?

 Nothing!

This is one of the huge problems in Congress.   Bills are created that are thousands of pages long.  They have provisions in them that have nothing to do with the subject matter of the bill.  Yet, politicians hook these extraneous provisions in there so that they can be included in a bill that must be supported, such as the National Defense Authorization Act.warning2

The other matter is this bill will kill business on the Internet.  Right now, companies that sell on the Internet only have to pay local taxes if they have a physical presence in a state.

If this scheme to tax the Internet goes through, businesses will not have to simply deal with Federal Taxation and the state or states they have a physical presence in, they will now have to deal with every one of the 46 states that has some type of a sales tax.

This will create massive new costs for businesses and will put some small businesses out of business.

One of the biggest advocates for this new Internet sales tax is Tennessee’s liberal Governor Bill Haslam.

He has been working with Lamar Alexander to push this bill through the Senate under the radar.

The fact that some of the biggest sponsors and advocates of this bill are Republicans should tell you how out of touch Republicans are with reality today.

While we need to address the issue of the insanity of the Republican Party and replacing the GOP with the Party of Liberty, right now we need to work to stop this terrible bill.

The taxing trio tried to attach this bill to the NDAA but the Senate has closed debate on that bill without the “Marketplace Fairness Act” attached.   These three will probably try to attach this bill to some other bill to get it passed because the “Marketplace Fairness Act” would never pass on its own.

Call your Senators today and tell them to vote against any attempt to add the “Marketplace Fairness Act” to any other piece of legislation.

Call Senator Lamar Alexander’s office as well as Senator Mike Enzi’s office and ask them why they are sponsoring a bill that will dramatically increase the tax burden on small businesses that operate on the Internet.

Lamar Alexander’s office number is 202-224-4944.  Mike Enzi’s office number is 202-224-3424

As with most bills in Congress today, this one is another really bad idea.  Let’s start calling and make sure we kill this bad bill.

The final two battles (Part One) – Tea Party Nation

The final two battles (Part One) – Tea Party Nation.

Posted by Judson Phillips

There are two battles that are coming up that will decide whether America can be saved at all or if America is headed towards decline and fall or perhaps simply a massive breakup.

What are those two battles that are coming?

The so-called “Fiscal Cliff” is not one of them.  The “Fiscal Cliff” is a politician created disaster that is simply a sideshow.

What are the two battles and why must we win them?

The first battle is the battle for Amnesty.

The pro-amnesty crowd was out the door the day after Mitt Romney’s disastrous loss to Barack Obama.

They pointed out that Obama did much better in the Hispanic demographics than Romney did.   Their immediate conclusion was that we must immediately embrace the entire open borders agenda, including amnesty; otherwise the Republican Party would be forever lost.

Why conservatives even listen to the terminally stupid is beyond me.  The open borders coalition is made up of a whole bunch of leftist groups and establishment Republicans.  Since when have they been right on anything?

Romney lost because he was a terrible candidate.  He offered nothing.  Obama made inroads into the Hispanic community because he offered Amnesty.

Not all Hispanics support Amnesty.   However, when Obama is offering something and Romney is not offering any good reason to vote for him, other than he is not Obama, Romney would lose every time.

The Republican Establishment seems to think if we just embrace Amnesty, all of these newly legalized people will suddenly become Republicans.  This notion is absurd.   We tried this before.  In 1986, President Reagan signed an Amnesty bill.  Did all of those people who received Amnesty become Republicans?  No.  What makes anyone think that would be any different today?

We live in a Democracy

Many people are going to jump up and down about that comment and shout back, “We live in a Constitutional Republic.”

No, we don’t.

America used to be a Constitutional Republic.  Unfortunately all of the safeguards that make a Republic stable are gone.

Today we live in a Democracy and as wiser men than me have pointed out, Democracy is an inherently unstable form of government.  It will work for a while, then the people will discover they can vote themselves benefits from the public treasury.  When they do that, Democracy dies and is almost always replaced by tyranny.

Allowing Amnesty would be a political and demographic disaster for America.

If you create ten to twenty million new citizens, you will immediately tilt the political balance of power to the Democrats.  If you doubt this, look at California.

Most of the illegal aliens in this nation have the economic value of being able to be paid under the table.  The myth is they do jobs Americans won’t do.  No, they will do jobs for wages Americans will not accept.  They can be paid under the table now and that makes them attractive to employers.   Once they are legal, what will happen?   They won’t be paid sub-minimum wage and they won’t be paid under the table anymore.

Most of these immigrants have less than a 6th grade education.

Why?

Because in Mexico and some of the other nations they originally come from, compulsory public education ends at elementary school.   These people can do menial jobs in our society, such as housecleaning or day labor.   What happens when they are legal?

Those who push the welfare state will be out among them showing them all of the wonderful benefits they can get from the government.   Many of them will be able to claim “disability” and not have to work any more.  For some of them, it will be paradise.  They will make more money than they have ever made and not have to do back breaking work.

Once ten to twenty million illegal aliens receive Amnesty and start receiving government benefits, you can guess what will happen at the next election.  The Democrat will go out to these people and claim the Republicans want to cut off their benefits.  Barack Obama took the popular vote in 2012, by four million votes.  Had the Republicans run a good candidate that is a margin that could have been overcome.

With Amnesty and a permanent underclass that will vote Democrat, the vote margin would swing to about ten million in favor of the Democrat.  We would never see another Republican elected President.

So what about the ten to twenty million illegal aliens in this nation?

We are not simply going to be able to deport them.  Many of them have children and grandchildren who are American citizens and who will never forget that the government deported their grandmother.

We are going to have to figure something out that allows those who came into this nation, worked hard to make a living and did not violate the law (other than the illegal entry into the United States) to obtain some legal status.  We must fight any attempt to create a pathway to citizenship.

If you broke the law to get here, we will forgive some things but you will not be rewarded with American citizenship.

If Republicans surrender on this, they will create a disaster that will be the end of America.  They will create an underclass that will last at least two generations.  It will be an underclass trapped in poverty, but with the full voting rights of all other Americans.  It will be a voting block that will quickly learn that it can vote itself benefits from the other taxpayers.  It will be a case of the takers giving the makers orders.

If this happens, we will see America disintegrate quickly.

We all know the famous quote from Benjamin Franklin after the Constitutional Convention.  He was asked by a lady, “What kind of government have you given us Dr. Franklin?”  Franklin replied, “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

We have not kept the Republic and now the question is, will we be able to even keep freedom and liberty.

Fear, Everywhere, Fear – Tea Party Nation

Fear, Everywhere, Fear – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

If my emails and the headlines I am reading indicate anything, there is widespread fear among Americans that something terrible has occurred with the reelection of President Obama. Not all Americans, though. Those who voted for Obama appear to remain oblivious despite the threat of a “fiscal cliff” or the new taxes in Obamacare that will kick in on January 2nd.

We have a Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy, Geithner, calling for an end to debt ceilings, apparently believing that America can continue to borrow money to pay for the interest on its escalating debt, now pegged at $16 trillion and growing daily. The U.S. borrows $4 billion a day. Anyone with a credit card knows that their payments increase as they struggle to deal with their personal debt. Eventually they either declare bankruptcy or turn to companies that negotiate a payment to release them.

If America was to default on its debt, the dollar, already in free fall, would be worth nothing. We would be bartering shiny beads and anything else to buy food and other necessaries. We would become Zimbabwe where you need a million of their dollars to buy a loaf of bread.

Writing recently on her Fox Business blog, Gerri Willis spelled out the huge rise in taxes Americans are facing. “All told, next year, total taxes will go to almost 50% for the middle class; the very group that the president says he wants to protect. That means 50 cents out of every dollar earned has to go to the government. Half of everything will go to an entity that didn’t earn that money, and shouldn’t be entitled to all that dough.”

What kind of madness is it that the Teamsters union would impose such senseless rules that it would weaken Hostess to the point of bankruptcy, preferring to let the company die rather than to protect the jobs of 18,500 bakers? Other unions are engaged in attacks on a weakened economy. What kind of nation is it that its government employees are lobbying Congress to not only increase their pay, but to exempt them from the impact of the spending cuts scheduled to kick in?

There is a full-scale attack on the privacy Americans have taken for granted, protected by the fourth Amendment that says “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated…”

On November 14th, the Heritage Foundation asked “Do you trust the government with your computer?” The government has had “13 breaches and failures of its own cybersecurity just in the last six months.” Even so, “the President and his allies in the Senate are pushing forward to regulate America’s cyber-doings, without any clues about how much this will cost or how it will work.”

“It has become the norm with this President—if Congress fails to accomplish his objectives, he goes around it with executive orders and federal regulations. He’s doing it again. Congress did not pass the Cybersecurity Act of 2012 before the election, so the President has issued a draft of an executive order to put much of that legislation in place without lawmakers voting.”

This is the very essence of tyranny and the President has had four years to perfect it. Are conservative think tanks the only ones paying any attention? It would appear so.

A new proposed law in the Senate would strip Americans of any privacy as they communicate with one another by email. A vote for the law would allow warrantless access to American’s email and is scheduled for a vote shortly. It would allow 22 federal agencies as well as state and local law enforcement to access one’s emails with nothing more than a subpoena. This is totally unconstitutional.

Already $16 trillion in debt, the government is looking for ways to take over the $3 trillion that is held in private retirement plans such as 401(k) plans and IRA’s. A recent hearing by the Treasury and Labor Departments addressed the nationalization of the nation’s pension system. The director of the National Senior’s Council, Robert Crone, warns “It is clear that this is the first step towards a government takeover. It feels just like the beginning of the debate over health care and we all know how that ended up.”

As we move closer to an Electoral College vote confirming Obama’s reelection, whistleblowers are coming forth in Ohio, Florida and elsewhere to reveal that significant voter fraud was a contributing factor, but it receives little or no media coverage. One must ask how 99% of votes in Philadelphia districts went to Obama and ask why nothing is being done to investigate this and other offenses such as the 141.1% of the vote recorded in Florida’s St. Lucie County. That is statistically impossible, but it robbed Rep. Allen West (R) of his seat in Congress.

This isn’t government. It is gangsterism. It is “the Chicago way.”

The monster Homeland Security Agency just graduated its first class of FEMA Corps, kids aged 18-24, recruited from the President’s Americorps volunteers, that will become a full time, paid standing army. Fears of FEMA camps abound and in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, people seeking shelter and food were herded into one that resembled a concentration camp of the Nazi regime and told not to use various means of communication to contact the media or outside community. They went from hurricane victims to prisoners of the government.

In so many ways, the freedoms protected by the U.S. Constitution are in danger of disappearing along with the separation of powers it requires.

Little wonder that citizen’s petitions from a growing number of states are called for secession. Or that governors are refusing to set up the Obamacare exchanges required by a law that has taken control of twenty percent of the nation’s economy; their budgets held hostage to Medicaid.

On an individual level, people who have jobs are fearful of losing them. College graduates are fearful of the huge debt they carry for the loans they received. People wonder if they can afford to get married. Married couples fear the cost of having another child. Homeowners fear not being able to pay their mortgages. Seniors fear that their savings won’t last as they live longer.

There is ample reason to fear not only the collapse of the nation’s economy, but the loss of liberty in America.is the most fearful prospect of all.

The fairness myth – Tea Party Nation

The fairness myth – Tea Party Nation.

Posted by Judson Phillips

Democrats have gotten a lot of mileage out of the claim that the rich must pay their “fair share” of taxes.  Americans have a very well defined sense of fairness.  How fair are Barack Obama and the Party of Treason?

Americans believe in not only fairness, but also equality.  Alexis de Tocqueville in the early 19th Century in “Democracy in America” wrote that Americans would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.

Unfortunately for America, the left has created an Orwellian definition of fairness.   Under the leftist mantra, we are all equal.  Some are just more equal than others.

The top 5% of income earners in America pay 40% of the taxes.   Is that fair or equal?

If you and I fly across the country on a Southwest Jet, sitting next to each other, there is an expectation that we both paid the same for the seat we are sitting in.

Since the days of the patron saint of liberalism, Karl Marx, it has been a tenant of liberalism that we have a progressive income tax.  It is only “fair.”

Really?  What is fair about someone paying a bill that is eight times what I pay for the same services?

emocrats discovered long ago that they could play the class envy card and get a large group of people to vote for them.  This strategy is proof of the truism that there are a lot of stupid people in this nation.  We call them Democrat voters.

The average IQ of the liberal Democrat voter floats somewhere in the single digit range.   There are also a lot of dead people who vote Democrat too.  In fairness to the dead, when you have to include people like Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Streisand in the mix it does skew the average down.

The progressive income tax has been tried throughout the western world.  Guess what?  As with all liberal ideas, it is a failure.

All an income tax does is provide for the endless easy expansion of government.   It provides fodder to create wasteful new programs.  Unfortunately, the income tax can never keep up with the desire of politicians to spend other people’s money.  If you doubt this, look at Greece, Spain and the rest of Europe.  The entire EU is a basket case.

Before the Obama Regime took over, America was the engine that was driving the world’s economy.   Barack Obama and the Party of Treason have done their best to destroy that engine.

We are long overdue for a system that creates disincentives to expand government.  We need a system that makes it painful for that useless class of individuals we call politicians to spend our money, except on the functions that we truly need government to handle.

Here is one idea.  How about abolishing the income tax all together?

Suppose we just impose a flat tax on everyone?  Not a flat rate but simply a flat tax.

In the 2012 fiscal year, the government spent about $3.8 trillion.  According to the CIA fact book, in 2010, there were approximately 206 million adults in America.

Assuming we did nothing to cut the bloated Obama budget, that would work out to a fee of approximately $1844 per adult.   If we cut that down to a monthly fee, that would be about $150 a month, per adult.

If you go back to the fiscal year 2007 budget, the last year the Republicans controlled the budgeting process and there was at least some fiscal sanity, the budget was only $2.7 trillion.  That would translate out to $1310 per adult or about $100 a month.

The great thing about this system is everyone pays but there is an even better incentive.  If you make more, you get to keep what you make.  If you want to work hard enough just to pay your taxes and keep a roof over your head, you can.  That is a concept foreign to liberals called liberty.

If you want to work really hard so you make a lot more money, you can keep all of that money.  That is again a concept foreign to liberals called liberty.

If we want to be fair, then we must all be treated equally.  The idea is simple.  Impose the minimum amount we need to run the government and then let the American people do what they do best.  Be their own masters and let them keep the fruits of their labors.

This system makes far too much sense.  It is perfectly understandable and perfectly fair.  That is, unless you are a liberal Democrat.

But then again, this system could put liberals out of business.

The Holy Grail for the left – Tea Party Nation

The Holy Grail for the left – Tea Party Nation.

Posted by Judson Phillips

The left is coming very close to something many of them consider the Holy Grail for liberalism right now.   It is a long held goal that many of them have had and now it is within reach.

What is it and how bad is it for America?

The Holy Grail that the left has been working on for a while now is a carbon tax.  The Carbon Tax is an idea that all forms of carbon (I.e. energy) will be taxed.  The tax will fall across businesses and people.  There will be taxes on energy when it is produced and when it is consumed.

The left is almost orgasmic over this tax.

Forget almost.  They are orgasmic over this tax.

The Carbon Tax is their way of attacking the mythical man-made global warming.  But more importantly for the left, it is a massive new tax stream.  Some estimates are this could be a trillion dollars or more in new taxes.

The White House is quick to point out they will not propose a carbon tax.  No they won’t.  Liberals expect a Republican to offer it.  They will use the gullible Republicans for political cover.

But this tax is far more complicated than adding a new tax to gas, oil, coal and other “carbon producing” fuels.

The left immediately starts screaming that any tax cannot be a tax on the poor or the middle class.  But unlike income taxes, there is no way to differentiate the purchaser of energy products.

So what will they do?

They will create a new bureaucracy that will offer refunds to lower income energy consumers so they are not punished by this new tax.

 Isn’t that great.

The government is going to create a whole new welfare program, even though it will not be called that.  Much, if not all of the revenue that this new tax generates will go to pay for the new bureaucracy.

In the mean time, the American energy sector is pillaged by yet another tax.

The Carbon Tax will create yet another unending stream of tax dollars for liberals of both parties to spend while they claim they are looking out for America.

America does not need another tax. We have enough of those and they are a disaster right now.  The energy sector does not need another tax they will pass along to consumers.

What we need is to cut spending.

This is the message we need to be telling America.  The problem is not taxes or revenue and we do not need more taxes on the people or more revenue for government.

Each year the government wastes hundreds of millions of dollar.  There are programs that are identified every year that are riddled with waste, fraud or duplicate other government programs.

The people of America need to demand that this spending be cut.  It is not the government’s job to give money to a friend of the Vice President so he can open a luxury car dealership in the Ukraine.

We are seeing riots in Greece.  We are following the path of Greece.   In Greece, children are being sent to school with notes pinned to their clothes from their parents saying that they can no longer afford to care for their children.

This is the future of America if we do not stop the insane growth of government now.

All the Wrong Assumptions – Tea Party Nation

All the Wrong Assumptions – Tea Party Nation.

By Alan Caruba

“I see this election of Obama as an ugly puss-filled boil and it has to get to a painful point where it will be lanced so it can heal.”

This quote pretty much represents the feelings of millions of Republicans and conservatives, and of the many people who have written to me these past three days. Depression is both an emotional and economic term and it is the prevailing mood among those of us still astonished—shocked—by the reelection of President Obama.

With 20-20 hindsight, it is clear that a lot of us, including myself, made a lot of wrong assumptions about the perceptions of Obama that were held by various demographic elements of the population. He did well among Hispanics and, of course, among Blacks. He did well among single women.

One bright piece of news is that among younger voters, 18 to 29, the President saw the highest defection rate from his margin of support in 2008, a six percentage point decrease. That may be an indication of how the 2014 midterm elections will go. By then, it is likely a lot of Obama voters will conclude they were fooled again. Mostly, though, Obama did well enough among those who voted for him in 2008 to retain his job for four more years.

In the end, his “majority” win was by a mere 2% in a sharply divided nation.
My assumptions that an unemployment rate of eight percent, the increase of six trillion dollars to an insane national debt now two trillion in access of the annual Gross Domestic Product, the rejection of Obamacare that gave rise to the Tea Party movement, his war on energy, and a host of other factors for removing him from office were wrong.

Most certainly the scions of the Republican Party woke up with a terrific headache as the result of their wrong assumptions. In 2008 Republicans selected a former war hero, John McCain, who had a record of seeking compromise with Democrats in the Senate. He was overwhelmed by the massive mainstream media adoration of Obama. This time around, Republicans selected Mitt Romney, a man of character and one with allthe right credentials to set the economy on a path to recovery. He wageda cautious campaign and, in hindsight, one that was too cautious, too polite.

The Republican Party, however, missed the message of the nation’s changing demographics. When I was growing up in the 40s and 50s, the GOP was largely seen as a party of the wealthy. They were the members of country clubs and, as a new generation of seriously conservative leaders took over, their one spectacular victory was Ronald Reagan in the 1980s. Reagan possessed solid conservative views and restored the economy after inheriting the failures of Jimmy Carter.

For reasons I never understood, voters switched course and gave Bill Clinton two terms, the second of which saw him impeached, but not removed from office. Clinton, however, knew how to compromise. After asserting conservative values, the 1994 elections gave Republicans control of the Congress. Clinton, however, participated in welfare reform and other programs, later taking credit for them. By his second term, I could not bear to see or hear him. The Lewinski affair was a stain on his presidency and nobody seemed to care.

George W. Bush might have been a reliable Republican President, focusing on the economy and other conservative issues, but his two terms were transformed by 9/11 and resulted in two wars; one in Afghanistan which should have been short, and one in Iraq that, in retrospect, was ill advised. Americans grew weary of war and that opened the door for Barack Obama.

Republicans and conservatives, including myself, made the assumption that the many failures of Obama’s first term were self-evident. His focus on passing Obamacare and the politically brutal way it was imposed by a Democrat-controlled Congress that didn’t even read the bill seemed to cry out for a defeat in 2012.

The scandal of “Fast and Furious” in which guns were allowed to cross the border for use by Mexican drug cartels was, I thought, surely going to offend Mexican-Americans and other Hispanics. It didn’t. It was largely ignored by the mainstream media and covered up by a claim of executive privilege that went unchallenged.

His failure to accept the recommendations of the Simpson-Bowles Commission on the means to avoid further debt was yet another reason I thought people would realize that he wasn’t merely indifferent to the rising national debt and deficits, but welcomed them as a way to reduce America as a world power.

When the U.S. credit rating was reduced for the first time in our history I thought people would be concerned. They weren’t. How many saw the looming financial crisis, captured perfectly in the automatic budget cuts of the sequestration mandate?

For years I have warned about the debasement of our educational system and no one seemed to care. While China turns out hundreds of engineering graduates there has been a diminishing, inadequate stream here in the U.S. Other nation’s children have been scoring higher on tests than our own for years and there was neither notice, nor outcry.

And for four years under Obama, while the unemployment rate soared, job creation hit new lows, the economy fell to an anemic rate of recovery, food stamp use increased, household income fell, gas prices rose, and general poverty rates increased, none of this seemed to matter as the President continued to repeat and repeat the tired, empty rhetoric of his 2008 campaign.

Throughout his term, the number of federal regulations continued to climb, adding 11,327 pages; a 7.4 percent increase from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2011. You don’t solve economic problems by strangling small, medium and large business and industry in America, but it didn’t register with those who voted for him on November 6th.

Republicans, conservatives, and many independent voters assumed these issues would resonate with a majority of the electorate, but they did not. They were ignored. In California, among the most heavily taxed citizens in the nation, they approved more taxes.

The question must be asked whether the Obama voters were just not smart enough to pay attention to the past four years or not smart enough to understand what he was doing?

The assumption was that a majority of Americans would reject four years of failure and, it must be said, four years of lies.

Our assumptions were wrong.

D.C. pigs at home in the capital swamp

By Ted NugentThe Washington Times

We have fallen far and fast.

Instead of electing a serious-minded, proven professional, America went once again with a guy whose most impressive qualification is that of a questionable “Chicago” community organizer. I don’t mean Chicago in a geographic sense.

President John F. Kennedy would have been appalled. Instead of asking not what our country can do for us but what we can do for our country, in just 50 years since Kennedy uttered that famous phrase, it appears that a majority of Americans now demand that their country do for them. It’s America turned upside-down.

We have decayed into a nation of gluttonous, soulless pigs who feast on whatever Fedzilla provides by taking from one group of Americans (the producers) and giving to others (the takers) who haven’t earned it and don’t deserve it.

Alexis de Tocqueville, the famous French thinker who visited America almost 200 years ago, saw the dangers of our experiment when he wrote, “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”

There you have it, America. The pigs have come home to wallow in the mud of the Washington swamp, and we have a group of professional political punks — master scam artists — who are all too happy to shovel more slop while advocating that the producers should be punished further by raising their taxes and restricting entrepreneurs with business-wrecking overregulation. And you thought “Planet of the Apes” was a movie.

This is where America is today. Too many Americans have become entitlement chumps who have been convinced by Democrats and other liberal scammers that they are entitled to the sweat and hard work of other Americans. Free cellphones aren’t free. Food stamps have become vote-getting extortion vouchers.

Couple that sense of entitlement with the abject stupidity of basic free-market principles by Mr. Obama’s supporters, and it isn’t surprising to me that Mr. Obama was given four more years to wage class warfare, drive our nation into more unsustainable debt, and institute policies that put Americans out of work and cause energy prices to skyrocket.

I’m not nearly as surprised with the outcome of the presidential election as I’m disheartened and disgusted that my fellow Americans can be this woefully uninformed, easily manipulated and thunderously ignorant. I’ve got a rotting fence post smarter than these mouth breathers.

If you voted for Mr. Obama, you are thunderously dumb and incredibly naive. Believe it. For your intentional ignorance, you will ultimately pay a heavy price that you are obviously too ignorant to understand. Your children and grandchildren will pay an even heavier burden. America will pay the heaviest burden. Thanks for nothing, numbskulls.

Mitt Romney was by far the better candidate, though he may not have been as “cool” or likeable as Mr. Obama. Electing our leaders based on their likeability factor is slightly less amusing than listening to “Say It Ain’t So, Joe” Biden stick his foot in his mouth.

Twenty years ago, the results would have been different. America wasn’t nearly as stupid back then as we are today. The presidential election proves that the dumbing down of America is complete.

The cultural tapestry of America is changing with more people of color inhabiting America and voting. I have no issue with that. What I have issue with is anyone believing he is owed something without working for it and a president who agrees. That’s considered un-American by the roughly 50 percent of us smart enough to have voted for Mr. Romney, the far better choice.

Green agenda threatens economic future

By Paul Driessen

Subsidized pressure and propaganda: Billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies continue to flow each year to bureaucratic zealots, environmentalist pressure groups, universities and other organizations. These dollars fund junk science, strained justifications for indefensible rules, more pressure to regulate for increasingly diminished returns, and outright propaganda.

Federal and state legislators need to hold investigative hearings, demand accountability, cut bloated agency budgets that enable such expenditures, and question why tax-exempt activist groups should receive taxpayer money funneled through government agencies.

America can continue paying billions in subsidies annually to prop up “green” technologies and agenda-driven science, or we can generate tens of billions a year in royalties and taxes, create millions of jobs and rejuvenate our economy through hydrocarbons, nuclear power and common-sense regulations.

Will President Obama, Democrats and executive branch agencies be receptive to bipartisan approaches — to institutionalizing all-of-the-above energy decisions that make scientific, economic, environmental and technological sense? Or will they be even more entrenched, knowing the White House can act via executive decree if Congress does nothing?

The answer will determine whether the United States becomes an economic powerhouse once again or an enormous Greece. Blessed with more oil, gas and coal than almost any other nation on earth, we must not refuse to develop these resources.
